My Mothers name was Ella b1929-d1994
My Grand Father's name was Thomas Atkinson b1880-d1957
My GGrand Father's name was John Atkinson b1843
These are factual
But John's Father I have as either Joseph or William.
I suspect Ive made an error but cannot find where.
How do I find which is correct?

If im reading that right David has Ella's Dad down as Thomas.....but then that would have made him 49 when Ella was born

Jill 2011 (aka Warrior Princess of Cilla!) Report 19 May 2010 19:37

My grandfather was 42 when my mother was born in 1918 and 46 when her youngest sister was born in 1922 so I don't think Thomas' age would have much relevance.

I know it doesn't..but what i was more getting at is that David has has Ella's Dad down as Thomas, & Tracey found an Ella whose Dad might be George

So was wondering if he missed out a generation

But i'll back off and keep me gob shut now

My family are fairly messed up in the age department.

I'm actually some years older than my own Uncle! My Gparents had him 3 years after i was born.

I'm the child of the eldest son, born 1947 and my uncle was born 1974 !

So age really doesn't come into it. But i do agree, and wonder if he's missed a generation out.

David you need to come back to your thread.
