David Report 19 May 2010 22:46

Don't know Tracey, I always thought Grand Father always worked for the corporation. He certainly did in his older years
But I was only a young boy
There it says he was a ship yard labourer

David

David Report 19 May 2010 22:50

I',m sure I followed Father and son through the census
Will need to go back a check

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 19 May 2010 22:51

You would have done what you could to bring money home to your family. I wold imagine he probably went to work with his father and found a job that way. As Thomas grew older the ship yards as he knew them would have been starting to close, with a new wife and children he may have changed occupations to suit his needs.

As local councils sprung up and jobs became abundant he would have probably switched occupations to carry on earning money.

I'm still trying to find him in 1911..... Do you know when John or Mary Ann died?

Before Janet, Thomas was married to Margaret Cunningham bc1876

I have suspicion to believe that before Margaret Cunningham he was married to Isabella Doyle. b c1881

I have one birth certificate of a child by Margaret

David

I found John on a census and the head of the family was William, coachman

I'm not CERTAIN I was looking at the right John.

It's murky that far back
