Well as long as you are certain his mother was Ellen and sure on birthyear this is the correct family however to make you aware their were a few Michael's on the census records within 10 years of yours and with mother's Ellen and also 1 born 1856 with mother Mary.I would recommend getting the marriage cert if he married to be 100%.

Can see no sign of her on the 1861 census and saw a poss for daughter Charlotte as a Servant which kind of makes me feel mum could have died?Trouble is there are a few poss deaths in the Hackney area.

Would it be possible for you to carry out a check for an Elizabeth MacPherson. She was born in 1928 in Canada. The family returned to the UK in 1936.
