I presume this is the marrriage.

King Walter Waller Camberwell 1d 1711
Waller Esther E King Camberwell 1d 1711

So are you trying to find an Edgar Walter?

He may just have used the name Walter.

Birth certs do NOT give the birth years of the parents.................

What is the name of the child whose cert you have?

When was he born?

Where did you see the address in Peckham?

Reply on here.....use the purple REPLY button just below the thread title

Kelly Report 7 Mar 2009 22:14

Thanks, Kelly, now we have a bit more to work on............

The address in 1915 is probably irrelevant.

The parents would almost certainly have established their own home when they married.

Have you got the cert for either of Thomas's father's marriages?

If not, it would be advisable to get one of them, to establish a birth year for him, and to find out the name and occupation of his father.

Kelly

Kelly Report 7 Mar 2009 22:22

this was the address on his brother cert to in 1913 so i took it to be there family home

Ricochet

Ricochet Report 7 Mar 2009 22:26

Yes, it was their family home, but they were a 'new' family................the previous generation would have had their own home.

When I married, I set up my own home - I didn't live with my parents...............

Ricochet Report 7 Mar 2009 22:30

This is the second marriage...............

At the moment, Kelly, as far as I can tell, you have no real idea of when and where Walter was born.

You need to establish that before looking for census info..............

Kelly

Kelly Report 8 Mar 2009 11:16

ok thank you i have now ordered a marr cert for him and will wait till i receive it before trying anymore, but thank you so much for your help

If so, what did it say?

hi please dont forget me ???

Ricochet

Ricochet Report 28 Mar 2009 10:29

So, Walter was born on, or after, 5th August 1892...................which would fit the census info posted for 1901, although, as yet, you don't actually know, 100%, where he was born.............

I've had a look at 1911 census.

It's odd...........

There is a Thomas King, aged 18, Greengrocer, living in Camberwell, but no record of a Walter fitting the info you have..............

Unfortunately, there is no way of finding where he was born, or who else is in the household without purchasing units...............

i have loads of credits would i be able to do this ?
