Is there any chance at this late date of a look up in Chelmsford census of Charles Riches b. 1847 ( father William) either in 1851 or 1861, please? Any information desperately needed. Many thanks, Pam W.

Karen

Karen Report 7 Nov 2004 14:59

Hi Pamela I've found a Charles that matches up on the 1851 surname index but hes not listed with any other Riches - possibly staying with rellies? Theres also a William which could be his dad. Details below :- 1851 - HO107/1775 Folio 446 Chelmsford Chas Riches - 3 yrs old - Born Chelmsford 1851 - HO107/1775 Folio 448 - Chelmsford Willm Riches - 43 yrs old - Born Chelmsford Susannah Riches - 37 yrs old - Born Great Baddow Willm Riches - 16 yrs old - Born Chelmsford Thomas Riches - 2 yrs old - Born Chelmsford Theres also this entry on the 1851 Chelmsford as well :- 1851 - HO107/1775 Folio 412 - Chelmsford Elizabeth Riches - 14 yrs old - Born Chelmsford My 1861 disk isnt playing ball at the mo, once I work out whats wrong with it, I will have a look at it for you. Karen Report 7 Nov 2004 21:00

Hi Janice 1851 There werent any James's mentioned, but heres details of the only Jane Bannister named on my Ongar surname index (please note relationships to head, occupations and address arent listed on the disk) :- 1851 - HO107/1771 Folio 210 Blackmore Jane BANNISTER - 63 yrs old - Born BLACKMORE John BANNISTER - 37 yrs old - Born BLACKMORE Samuel BANNISTER - 37 yrs old - Born BLACKMORE Joseph BANNISTER - 35 yrs old - Born BLACKMORE Rabecca BANNISTER - 33 yrs old - Born WRITTLE Martha BANNISTER - 29 yrs old - Born BLACKMORE 1861 No James's mentioned on this one either, but think this must be the same Jane as found in 1851 (please note relationships to head, place born, occupation and address arent listed on the disk) :- 1861 - RG9/1066 Folio 153 Blackmore Jane BANNISTER - 73 yrs old John BANNISTER - 49 yrs old Samuel BANNISTER - 47 yrs old Joseph BANNISTER - 45 yrs old Rebecca BANNISTER - 43 yrs old Martha BANNISTER - 39 yrs old Samuel BANNISTER - 9 yrs old David BANNISTER - 7 yrs old Joel BANNISTER - 5 yrs old Joseph BANNISTER - 3 yrs old Ruth BANNISTER - 9 months old Hope this lot helps you. Hi Karen Thanks so much for your generous offer. If you get a chance would appreciate if you could look up the following families for me, - Snow, Dawes, Priest and Shimmon. Snow family from Ongar (High Laver, Little Laver) and the Dawes (James Dawes who was an Inn Keeper in 1850's age unknown) think in the Great Warley Essex area. The Priest and Shimmon families were from Barking Essex. Any info at all would be very much aprpeciated. Hope I am not being too greedy!! Kind regards Danielle

Karen Report 8 Nov 2004 10:08

Hiya Danielle I think I've already searched for your Snows for you - under your thread about 2 John Snows, was there another Snow family you wanted me to search for? The other families I'm not going to be able to help you with, as the areas arent covered by the surname index. Sorry I couldnt help. Let me know if theres any other Snows in the Ongar area you want me to search for. Karen

Hi Karen Yes thats right you were very helpful in info you found on my Snows. I was hoping you might be able to tell me of other Snows born c. 1803 in the Ongar area. Would be grateful of any names so I can investigate further as to if they are possible siblings of my John Snow snr the son of John Snow and Ann of Great Waltham. With much thanks Danielle

Hello Karen, I wonder if it would be possible for you to look on the Ongar disk 51 & 61 for he family of John and Bathsheba Hasler, John would have been about 36 and Bathsheba 30 in 1851. The children I think were William (born Blackmore 1849), Eliza (born High Ongar 1851), James (1855 High ongar) and Hannah (1860 high ongar). If it gives the place of residence could you give me that as well. I would be vey grateful for this information. Thanks Joanne .
