It's clearer if you look at the original on Ancestry.

28 Gordon Street is where my grandparents lived so its definitely him on the New York Passenger (crew) list. He must also have been the stowaway in 1912! The other stowaway's address was close so they must have been mates. Edward married my grandmother the following year - I do hope he wasn't running away from her!!

Jay Report 3 Mar 2013 18:39

Just to throw another thing into the mix - apparently my grandfather was sometimes called Bert. I have no idea why but have wondered if one of his names was Albert or Robert although neither is on his marriage or death certificate. However 2 of his sons were named Albert and Bert (yes really). I have tried using these names when looking for his birth but with no success.

Would someone with an Ancestry sub check out the Edward Horsey b1893 in Liverpool in 1901?

The "FL" on Florety is definitely an "H" as there's a Hughes written the same way. I do think the name may be Hornby.

It's def. Florety - they appear 1911 also.

A 1911 that has Bert permutations:

The head is actually Alice, I guess she'd be a dock labourer's wife? (EDIT: original does say she's a worker)

Married 26 years, 12 children born - 6 still alive.

Jay Report 3 Mar 2013 19:58

Interesting as Edward's son Bert was actually Bert Alexander. MC - if this is my grandfather on 1911 where did Edward come from I wonder? So much food for thought here.
