Hi Jess, Yes that's definitely the family living in Hollinders Lane in 1881. I did see somewhere that the road was named after them! I'm not sure that Edwin Halldren would be the right one. My Edwin is usually something to do with bricks or tiles and is always born in Walsall. He must be really badly mistranscribed! Jane

Hi, I am looking for Francis Kennedy (c1849) in the 1861. He was born in Bermondsey and his fathers name was John. I can find no trace of him at all before 1869 when he married, not even a birth certificate. I got his fathers name from his marriage certificate and his occupation was listed as fellowship porter. That's about all I have to go on and would really appreciate a look up. Many thanks, Lorraine

Hi, Sorry I've been offline due to major computer probs and sick kids! Am back now and will repost my original message so you can remember me. 'I am looking for Francis Kennedy (c1849) in the 1861. You asked me if I had him in any census after marriage - yes, all except the 1871. I can find no birth ref but on all census it states that he was born in Bermondsey. In 1872 he is listed as 'seaman Merchant Service' on his daughters birth certificate and in 1881 as a 'mariner' but after that as a fish porter. But in 1861 he would have only been about 12 so he shouldn't really have been away at sea at that point. In 1871 I cannot find him or his wife - maybe he or both of them are at sea? Any help gratefully received and here's fingers crossed the computer holds out for a bit longer! Lorraine
