Tried before on here but here I go again. One of my brick walls is Mary Ann Thurrell. Father Joseph Thurrell. She was my gt. gt. gran. She married David Baird In Islington in Sept 1851. Had a son in Lambeth in 1853. Died in Islington in 1855. Where the hell was she born. Must be on 1851 census somewhere. Not at same address in Islington as David. Wish someone could help. Hilary. x

HEllo, I have just put up another thread that maybe I should have put on here but I have a higher brick wall than that one even! James Peter Martin, died June 1943, (found this with your help after someone suggested that he may have died away from home). Married May Bohanna in Fleetwood in October 1939. Census 1901 - invisible to me! Census 1891 - invisible again! Born: 1889 according to ages on certs I have but I cannot find him on the index! Any takers? Oh, and part of the problem is that I was following the wrong Henry as his father for four years, and that I don't have any idea of where he was born! Thank you Abigail

My missing rellie, a Joan Brash, bn 1850, Herts, is missing on 1861 England & Wales census, possible that she could have been in Scotland, maybe East Lothian areas, as that is where her parent,s originated from. This would be of immense help if anyone could track her down. Dolly.

For Julie Samuels: re Joseph Beaumont 1857/8 Julie Ive found following on 1871, you have probobally seen it before, however looking at household on image there is no 'head' or 'wife' recorded, but rather a 'lodger' and two children Joseph 14yrs and Clara 12yrs. Im wondering if the Lodger could be a aunt/relative as opposed to being their mother, she is a widow, occupation seamstress. The mother may have been away on census night, or with her husband Joseph the commercial travellor. Just a thought! 1871 England Census records matching your search for All Records > Census > 1871 England Census Match Quality Name Estimated Birth Year Birthplace Relationship Civil Parish or Township County/Island View Image Clara Beaumont abt 1859 Manchester, Lancashire, England Daughter Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire Joseph Beaumont abt 1857 Lougsight, Lancashire, England Son Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire Mary Beaumont abt 1837 Manchester, Lancashire, England Lodger Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire Source information: RG10/3992 Registration district: Chorlton Sub-registration district: Chorlton upon Medlock ED, institution, or vessel: 36 Folio: 122 Page: 12 Household schedule number: 69 GSU Number: 846096 Lib *************************************** Ive looked for the above in 1861 and I cannot find them! Please, please could anyone help, I am trying to find the maiden name of the wife of Frederic Percival. Fred was born in Redmire Yorkshire around 1862 and his wife Mary was born around 1859 in Bury. They lived in Skipton and I think that is where they married. I have found a marriage for a Frederic Percival in 1882 Sept quarter vol 9a Page 70 but no Mary. May I just say as a novice at this I am totally impressed by all your knowledge and your kindness in helping people. Thank you. Best wishes to you all. Margaret from Lancashire.

The Ego

The Ego Report 9 Aug 2005 22:52

Margaret, If we ignore the Skipton location first, which is not proven for the marriage, there are only 2 marriages that involve a Frederick percival marrying a mary in the space of 20 years !! Frederick Percival March 1883 Ormskirk 8b 944=Mary Ellen Astbury. Also September 1883 either mary hart or mary Turner married a Frederick Percival Nantwich 8a 466(cert would clarify which one) Any other matches involved london.

Daisy Report 10 Aug 2005 13:53

Hi, Please could anyone help me fine on the 1871 census: Ann(e) Maria or Hannah Maria Shackleton aged about 27 although she seems to have altered her age slightly in later life. Her son John Shackleton aged about 9. Both these people were born in Haslingden Lancs. Ann had links with the Burnley area. She was unmarried and always lived with other relatives. I have found her on the 1851, 1861, 1881, 1891 and 1901 census's but she seems to have escaped the 1871 census. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Caroline WISE b 1853 Bloxham, Oxfordshire. Last found in Reading Union Workhouse 1891. Had lived with Thomas (Tom) BOYLES, a farrier/blacksmith until 1889/1890. Had Tom b1879, Charles (1881-1883), Harry b1883, Mary Ann b1884, Ellen b1887 & Kate b1889 - all registered in name of BOYLES. Baby Kate was in the workhouse with her mother. Tom, Harry, Mary Ann & Ellen (Nellie) were inmates in Reading & Wokingham District School in 1891. Caroline and her children had reverted to the name of WISE in 1891. After 2 years of searching I can't find anything, anywhere after that date. Emily
