Afternoon girls,

Jojo, my christmas cards are hit and miss, I never plan them.Usually have a kit or two from qvc, but I had so much left over from last year, I'm using that up first. Will be recording all the craft programmes, I dare not watch, because I just know I will buy.Theres no scrapbooking stuff this time though, so that will help my purse stay shut :)

I will be emailing everyone later, don't worry if you get 2 emails, it's only about the new atc titles for the rest of the year.

Take care

Heather xx

Hi all,
I'm trying to finish off all the Birthday girl cards until end July 2009 (then I change the theme for the card) and inbetween making cards for friends and here and there a Xmas card. I still have a few over from last year, which helps.
My help in the house has her birthday next week so hope to have time to bake a Dutch apple cake for her. I am at the moment negotiating with somebody on Marktplaats (like Ebay) for a breadmaking machine for her.
Johan is going out for a day on his own tomorrow and I am thankful I don't have to go with him. He is going with the taxi. He is going to the Veterans Annual club and is leaving here around 8.30 am. I have so much planned to do, but I bet I only do half of what I have planned as my neighbour has already asked me to go to her for a cup of tea - fatal is that!

Evening all, well at least the weather was better today, although it is raining at the moment surprise surprise!!
Just watching Create and Craft hoping to get some inspiration, but nothing doing at the moment! Have just noticed there is a Cuttlebug show tomorrow so will be recording that one just in case they show something different. Then Monday it is craft on QVC, so will be looking in case there is any shows there to record. Might find some Christmas inspiration you never know.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and for those in UK have a nice bank holiday as well.

Just a quick hi to everyone and a Happy Birthday to, Barbara, Vicky, Patricia, Berniece and Wendy as will not be about, all the cards are on their way to you all :)))

My flight to Manchester is at 2.30, then its on to the Isle of Man to get there at 8.30, will be home on the 2nd.
My step brother did live long enough for my dad to see him but passed on Friday, not sure how long my Dad will stay in NZ as it depends on how well enough my step sister is as she is also terminal.
John is staying here as lots to do for the kitchen plus changeover in cottage and all the pets to look after.

Glad you got the CDs Sylvia, and hope you can get some use out of them.
Hope you are all having a good weekend

Very quiet here at the moment I hope everyone is keeping OK, although I know Jill and Ann are both away.

Weather here is awful today rain, rain and more rain quite torrential at times and very windy. Will the rain ever stop, so miserable.

Have to rest for a few days doctors orders so will hopefully be able to catch up on my card making.

Good morning everyone and hope everyone's keeping well.
Got home on Tuesday after my time on the Isle of Man and my Dad is due home this morning so Mum was not on her own for long.
Half the roads closed on the island due to the Manx Grand Prix but did get to push the profits up in M&S :))
Yesterday was spent at a specialist for animals as one of our German Shepherds has allergies and a skin problem. John nearly passed out at the 300 euro bill for antibiotics , shampoo and other stuff. A lot cheaper than UK though as consultation fee was £40 and was told the same in UK was £350!!.At least we had all the skin samples sorted while we were there and an answer given as to what type of bacteria was attacking her.
Now hoping to win lottery :))

Sylvia, many thanks for your letter but you did not need to xx

Must do the last bits to the kitchen as installers coming Monday, just another two weeks and all will be tidy again :))

Hi all,
I thought it was time I showed my "face" again. I have been following the thread, but not answering.
I have had some awful pain and the doctor thought I had fibromyalgia but the blood tests have proved negative. I have to go back to her because just raising my right hand sends shock waves down my arm.
On the lighter side of things, Johan and I have now booked two weeks in Spain, near Benidorm where we used to spend our winters. We know the way, the doctors etc.etc. and will be nice to look up old faces again. I must get my Spanish books out to revise some words.
Some friends of ours who live in the next town are going and suggested we might like to join them. We know the hotel very well.
So we won't be going on our cruise after all.
Today we went out and bought a new suitcase. Now I must find some more clothes, a swimming costume is badly needed.
The weather is terribly wet and cold here and we have the central heating on every day.
Nice to see you back Jill. Glad you received my letter.

Sorry that you are not feeling well Sylvia hope the doctors manage to sort it all out soon for you and you are back to your old self!!

Weather here is torrential rain again so much flooding around.

Received an email from Lynne (Irish Angel) to say that her Mum is still in hospital and is now very poorly, unfortunately her condition will not get better and the doctors say she only has a few weeks.
Sending you both lots of love and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi girls,
Where are you all? The last message on here was 5 days ago. Are you all busy making Xmas cards?
We had lovely weather today so got my help to clean up our balcony. We seem to have more spiders every year. Anita hates spiders too, so there were a few shrieks of "ooh" "bah" enz.
So now have large table and chairs all clean indoors for the winter. Our weather forecast is beautiful sunny weather during the day but cold at night - even frost!
I've made lots and lots of Xmas cards and today wrote myself in for a cursus at our local handwork shop. There are always different techniques worth learning about.
Now girls let's hear from you.

I'm here Sylvia!!

You sound like you have been very busy. Seems like most people have started, (some have even finished!!) their Christmas cards, me I haven't started yet, but will get there in the end I hope.
Well it has rained here again today, drove back up the motorway in torrential rain, will it ever stop!! Now frost sunny weather is just what I like, but rain everyday, really do not like that.
Have my two grandsons 1st birthday cards to make so must get a move on with them, hopefully will get some inspiration soon.

Hope everyone is keeping well, have a lovely weekend all of you.

syljo Report 14 Sep 2008 20:50

Hi all, in particular Jo, as nobody else seems to bother at the moment.
The weather hasn't been too bad today but I haven't been out. Sunday is a lovely day to just mooch around if you can.
Well Friday I had the funeral in Rotterdam and was caught in traffic queues - so bad they got a mention on the television - 16 kiometres long in places. We were more than 2 hours late getting back. Therefore Johan and I felt more devastated than ever when we got home.
Saturday I baked a couple of bread and made an apple tart, as well as some washing and ironing, so I was ready for today to just "mooch around". When I say "mooch" I did make the dinner and do some more ironing and washing, but not too much. I cannot sit still anyway.
Tomorrow my help Anita comes again. She usually comes Monday, but last week was an exception and that is why I have her two days near each other.
I had an e-mail from my nephew in Galveston, Texas who describes the situation out there at the moment. His father, my ex brother in law, lives there and had to flee to a hotel a long way away, but even then they have no electricity.
My niece, who also lives there is ok, but also had to flee. I don't think I would like to live there. I have travelled around there and it is not a country I would fancy living in.
One of my brother in laws is having a long operation tomorrow. He is having his bladder removed and some glands as the cancer has spread and also the kidney which is not working anyway. Apparently they will be busy most of the day. His wife, Johan's sister, died a few years ago.
I wonder when we are going to hear from some of the others???

How lovely Pippa to make your own wedding invitations, so much more personal. I wasn't in to card making in those days, more's the pity.
The weather is so cold now. Where on earth did summer go to? I spent all afternoon making Xmas cards as I have so many to make.
