Hi all,
I have made more than 100 Xmas cards and not one the same. I think I make them in my sleep now.
Yes, it is a terrible shame that Margaret should have to leave us, but who knows what the New Year will bring her.
Johan went to the urologist today and he wanted to operate on him next week, but first of all Johan has to visit the cardiologist - we have an appointment with him, the both of us, next Tuesday. He now has a new appointment for the op and that is 16th December. Just before Xmas!
My new antibacterial tablets seem to be working, although causing me trouble with my tongue/mouth and very sore/painful to eat and drink, especially anything spicy. Cure one thing, create another.
Thank you Ann, Glos for your pretty card received today.

Evening all, yes it is a pity Margaret is leaving the group, hope things improve for her very soon.

Well I have finally made some Christmas cards, still have another 30 to make, still half way there.

Sylvia thanks for your lovely card. Hope things go well for Johan at the cardiologist so that he can have his surgery. Glad to hear that the new tablets are working, pity they have upset you mouth.

Well it is cold here again today but no snow, pity as I love the snow!!

Off now to write the cards I have made, find that takes as long as making them does.

Hi all,
Johan and I went to the Garden Center today and bought our Xmas tree. We have done this in case he is not able to do much soon. I bought one or two odds and ends for making my front door arrangement and an Advent's wreath.
Very cold here and windy. I have some special jelly to rub inside my mouth because it is swollen - reaction to my anti bacterial cure. See you tomorrow

Mandy thank you for the lovely card. At least it arrived unopened!! Have received 3 cards in the last fortnight that had been opened, obviously someone thought they contained something!! going to sellotape all mine down.
Off now to get one with the rest of my Christmas cards, will get them done before Christmas Eve.....

Jo,
How strange they had been opened. Is it possible it is the glue that is not sticking?

Hi folks hope everyone is keeping well and nice and warm, so cold here today stayed white over all day.

Margaret asked me to post for her so I have copied her post from FTF

From Margaret -Could i just say a big thank you to the ones of you that have sent me Christmas cards , I am unable to return cards as my husband was made redundant in October and as we know jobs are hard to come by at 60,and things dont look good I am coming off the Birthday group until things improve but i would like to still keep in touch via here , I have to look at where i can try and not spend money and I'm afraid it was my card making that was first on the list. Love Margaret.xx

thank you Jackie for the Christmas card. I hope I have remembered to thank people as I go along. Feel a bit guilty because i only sent out 14 cards and am getting them from those I didn't send to. Apologies to those but, as I said before I already send more than 130 cards.

Margaret, i hope things will pick up for you in 2009.

Ann, a lot of the group said they were sending to everyone, this was their choice as I sent the group listings out to everyone. I am sending to all, but very happy if I only get from the ones in my group.

Finished making all my group cards and put them in the post yesterday so hopefully they will arrive safely. Still have 30 to finish so will have to get to work. Did nothing over the weekend as looking after different grandchildren

Very dull and miserable down here, such a change from yesterday. Bring back the frost and sunshine.

Hi all,
Nice to see everybody posting again. Yes, the cards are all lovely, and if I have forgotten to thank somebody personally please forgive me. I blame it on "age".
Our Xmas tree is now standing and the lights flashing. Johan fixed it up whilst I was at the hospital this afternoon. I have to set up the nativity stall and make one or two decorations and then I can relax - hopefully.
Tomorrow hospital again and then a look around the shops. We hope on Thursday also to look around town.
The weather is cold and miserable but the sun did show its face for a little while.

Sorry Ann I was just explaining so you would not feel guilty!! Think most people seem to be doing their own thing.
Well went shopping this afternoon and it rained all the time, in fact still raining and the worst part except for getting wet through did not manage to get anything I needed!!

Hi everyone hope you are all keeping nice and warm. Have you all finished your shopping, I know I certainly haven't!! Still 2 weeks to go so I have some time. The weather has been so cold here today just could not get warm, so off to bed early.

Oh went to see his consultant yesterday and it looks like he will be having surgery they wanted to do it straight away but he said to wait till after Christmas, not one thing but another.

Seem to have picked us a virus on my computer no idea how to sort it out, looks like it is going to be very expensive to get someone in before Christmas, just wish I knew a little man that could help!!

Keep warm

Hi all,
A thick white frost is covering all the cars outside on our parking terrein and I think how lucky I don't have to go out in this weather. Our lovely newspaper boy delivers our daily newspaper every day around 5 in the morning. I know because I saw him on his bike one morning when I was awake early.
If we don't get the newspaper and we phone before 10 am then we will still get it the same day. Three cheers to these sort of people. We don't have milkmen delivering milk like they do in the UK, but it is so easy these days with fridges and milk keeping longer.
My cards are coming in in small numbers. Today I received only one. This was from Jill. Thank you Jill, lovely card as usual.
I have been getting one or two cards from unexpected people, so then the mad dash to make one or two extra. Yesterday evening I made 4 extra, even though I thought I was finished.
Not long now girls. I have a problem, do I go on a diet and loose that little extra round the waist or get the sewing machine out and let out a piece in my trousers? With this cold weather I will probably opt for the sewing machine.
Now till tomorrow.
