Sunny Saturday in Melbum. Got some reasonable rain over the last few days, which fillled our water tanks up.

June. Hoping all is well with daughter in India at the moment. Some places are not where you want to be right now, and safe travels to her returning on Sunday.
Funny enough its a country i have always wanted to visit on my to do list. My grandmother was born in Ajmer 1888 ( Rajasthan ) near Delhi.

Summer Vege garden has profited from the rain and sunshine, and my seedling tomato plants that i planted in late Sept are 4ft high on the stakes so far, flowering nicely, and small fruits popping up all over.
Didnt plant to much this year as last summer was a disaster with the heat................I put in One Gross Lisse......one Red Cloud......one Big Red.....one Apollo.....one Beef steak....and two cherry sweet bites to toss into the mixed salads.10 Lettuce "Iceberg" 40 Spring onions, 2 Garlic, 3 varietes of Capsicums ( Red & Green )" Love to eat them straight off the plant"...Lots of Vit C.......Yum ....or stuffed with mince and onions and Babequed............and also 3 plants of Cucumber.......soooo i just have to keep the pesky possums away, and we will have a nice tossed salad come B.B.Q's during summer.

Wishing all a great weekend, and come Monday ( 1st Dec ) a merry Christmas season to all.

Hope everyones done there Chrissy shopping?.....lol

Av a good un.

Evenin' All,
Wonderful weather this week, nice and wet in patches, stormy, windy, sunny in turns, garden going ahead in leaps and bounds like yours Tones, lifted my garlic coupla weeks ago and now it has dried nicely am handing out bulbs to friends, yum so great when fresh.
Just caught SBS show about Lake District, where Dad's side of the family were from, he went in 87 and saw the village and the pub his great grandmother worked in before marriage and emigration - can't wait to go myself one day.
Ooooh er Merle, new duds, nothing like a new wardrobe to make ya feel on top o' the world ! You and Mary make a good pair with your watercise!
Sanda it's quite warm here even if a bit windy today, your grandkidlets will be having a fine time in Wodonga.
Yes a nervous time for those in Bombay, terrible events, plus everybody stuck in Bangkok at the moment, must be throwing airline schedules out of whack all over asia ! I'm sure your dau in Bangalore will be just fine June, you'll be glad when she gets home though.
DD made yummie choc chip biscuits this afternoon, anyone want one with their cuppa? ((hugs)) to all that need them, ~~ Hz

Just had a text msg from Daughter Hz,7year old Grandaughter 1st in all races and now no1 in Victoria as well as NSW.
Grandson 10yr old crashed in one race and spent 30mins in ambo but recovered to go on and get 10th place in final in VictorianState .
They now have to drive home, but they love it.

Friday night going to watch Grandson 14 in a school show where he is the principle singer and actor , should be a good one.

Sandra,

Well done to your grand-young 'uns ......were you the rev- head they inherited the dare-devil spirit from LOL !

It has been a calm weekend here, OH and I got up early this morning and watched a movie followed by bit of Rugby, then BOTH of us went back to bed for a nanna nap. DD of course came out of her room once she smelled lunch ( bacon, eggs, hash browns, toast etc) at about noon !! LOOOOXURY !
I sat in my garden for about an hour with the SMH and watched the beans grow another inch this afternoon - more loooxury!

A little bit of ironing to do and that's it for me - chops and salad for tea, and a bit of consultation on water rights for the legal studies student - does making people drink recycled water contravene the basic human right to clean water............... OH said "just ask someone in Somalia" - DD is quite energised now, with a new dimension to bring into her essay.......... Must away, love to all, ~~ Hz

PS is it John's 60th Vonny ? WOW, hope he had a great birthday, mwah from us.

Marie. Yes...i received your email to me via GR.

Leave it with me, and i will see what i can find out.
Cant promise i will find more than you have already, as it appears you have done quite a bit of Family history detective work yourself.
Just out of interest though, you were saying that Q.L.D death index stops at 1914......Wasn't sure if you knew that the Deaths for Queensland ( BDM's ) are now up to 1929 on line.

If i can find John O'brien death or anything else i will email you.

Marie
from Bathurst,
Thanks Tony, I have been looking in the Historicals death records and they only go to 1914 so I will try Your Web Site.
Yes Tony I have been doing this for Years, but was only able to get to the archives in Brisbane very rarely.
I will be your adoring Friend if you can crack this wall for me .

Hi June I hope it doesnt get too hot either,I would have Panicked screamed she says also if any of my daughters had been in Mumbi, the world is going Mad.
The terrorists should be made to do Family reseach without a Computer. He he he.

.HZ sounds like you had a good weekend.

Hi Wilson havent met you before another gardener I garden also, a few vegies but love Natives and all the other beauties.

Arvo.

Reasonable sunny day in Melban.

Went to see the movie premeir " Australia" on Monday night and quite enjoyed it. I'm not a real movie goer normally, but seeing Barb had won a few free tickets...i couldnt bring myself to miss out.....lol
Plus...the popcorn and cold drinks were for free.. too....:>))))

Marie. Them O'Brien's in Q.L.D must have had shares in the state....lol
Not sure how far up the ladder you have checked the electorol rolls for Q.L.D but there were still a few O'Brien living in Tooley street 1913 and 1919 ( Catherine in 1913 Churchill and Tooley ) and a John O'Brien in Tooley street in 1919.

If you want i can send the pics to you by email as "Attachment" to confirm they are yours, as i would need to know if am on the right track.
This also helps to eliminate your John O'Brien last whereabouts ( still alive ) so i can search for a possible death year. There are quite a few John O'Brien deaths with parents unknown, or not listed in the state of Q.L.D............. so by checkng his movements through the electorol rolls of his last place of abode, helps to eliminate other John O'Brien deaths listed in Q.L.D.at a given year.

So if you can PM me your email addy through GR if you want......and i can send you these so you can check them to see if they are your O'Brien.

Hi folks, Yes Mary ,am in the pool and also using the skateboard.Physio has a heart attack as my balance never gets any better and it gets interesting sometimes. she won't let me on the trampoline at all. Can't imagine why!!! See the Surgeon for the followup appt.on Sat. and I'm hoping he'll authorise me to continue up there at the hospital,. It's no cost there.. If not I'll try to get in somewhere but $12 each visit to the pool plus$8.00 to get there and back will probably be too much for me. Still we'll see. We've had summer for two days this week.Don't think it's going to last though. Am doing a bit of F.H but not getting far. Going out to lunch tomorrow.Thats exciting for me these days! Bye now luv Me

ps. Just thought i would leave you with this.

Dear Friends

As we move closer to the end of another year I wanted to thank you for all the e-mails you have forwarded to me over the past year.

I must send a big thank you to whoever sent me the one about rat shit in the glue on envelopes, because I now have to use a wet sponge with every envelope that needs sealing.

Also, I now have to wipe the top of every can I open for the same reason.

I no longer have any savings because I gave it all to a sick girl who is about to die in the hospital for the 1,387,258th time. But that will change once I receive the $50,000 that Bill Gates and Microsoft are sending me for participating in their special email programs. Or from the senior bank clerk in Nigeria who wants me to split seven million dollars with me for pretending to be a long lost relative of a customer who died intestate. I also never have any email birthday greeting as every one I've been warned will burn my hard drive to death

And I need no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214 angels looking out for me.
I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward emails to seven friends and make a wish within five minutes.

I no longer drink Coca-Cola because it can remove toilet stains.
I no longer can buy petrol without taking a friend along to watch the car so a serial killer won't crawl in my back seat when I'm filling up.

I no longer go to shopping centres because someone will drug me with a food sample and rob me.

I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number and then I'll get a phone bill with calls to Jamaica , Uganda , Singapore and Uzbekistan .

I can't use anyone's toilet but mine because a big brown African spider is lurking under the seat to cause me instant death when it bites my bum.

I can't even pick up the five dollars I found dropped in the car park because it was probably put there by a crazed axe murderer waiting under my car to grab my leg.

If you don't send this message to at least 144,000 people in the next 10 minutes, a large pelican with an acute case of diarrhoea will sit on your head and fleas from 12 camels will infest your back, causing you to grow a most unsightly hairy hump.

I know this because it actually happened to a friend of my next door neighbour's ex-mother-in-law's second husband's cousin's plumber - and it was on Good Morning Australia.

By the way.... did you know that a South American scientist has, after a lengthy study, discovered that people with low IQs who don't have enough sex, always read their emails while holding the mouse.

Don't bother taking it off now, it's too late.....:>)))
