Morning Mummo,
It is lovely you hear you sounding a little brighter today.Fingers crossed Eddie has coped all night with the Ventilator and that he feels more comfortable in the Toilet Department!!.I t easy for the Nurses as they don't bat an eyelid at having to clean up a patient ,BUT it is mortifying for the poor patient.
Heres hoping for a good day xx

Oh Mummo, I am so pleased Eddie's out of his induced coma, that you were both able to say how much you love each other. O)))

They should be able to give Eddie, can't think of the name, am sure someone will know ... not nappies but similar which will preserve his dignity. Also boxer shorts can be unstitched and velcroed to wear over the top.

Leaving you both hugs, always in my thoughts and prayers ((((Mummo & Eddie)))).

So pleased to hear that Eddie has made some progress...... needing to go to the loo is a good sign, as well!! We do lose our dignity in hospital, at times....... when I was in, three specialists from three different areas had been asked to come and give me the once over, lol

I awoke from a nap, to see this lovely man with a beaming smile at the end of my bed... he told me his name, but not his role... now, which one was he? The Dentist, the ENT specialist.... or the Gynaecologist? lolol I was drugged up to the eyeballs, so won't tell you what, in all innocence, I asked him.... but I expect you can make a pretty good guess!! The elderly lady (90 years young) in the bed next to me laughed for a week over that, and I was sooooooo embarrassed!! ;¬))

Hopefully, your visit today will find small improvements again... fingers crossed, and prayers said

(((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) for you all

Love

I am so glad that you have some positive news at last. Being a patient is not the most dignified thing at the best of times, but the nurses are perfectly used to it.

It is lovely for both of you that you are able to communicate, although only slowly, at least you can talk to him and reassure him.

Thanks for your comments this morning, yes l do feel better this morning it just gave me a awful shock when they told me they had put him in a induced coma but after yesterday seeing him awake again and with a bit of colour in his cheeks did me the world of good.
I did ask if they could put one of those nappy things on him but they said that he couldn't wear one because where he has to lay flat and is prone to bed sores every thing has to be crease free so no nappy for him !!!!!!!!!!
I have just dropped my daughter up the hospital and l'm going to do a bit of h/ work and have a shower then join her up there, God l'm going to miss her when she goes home tomorrow but she is going home for 10 days then she will be back with me for 3 weeks.
Speak to you all soon, xxxx

Hello Mummo .....I'm so very glad to read your brighter news . I'm so pleased that you and Eddie are finding your little ways to communicate ( especially to be able to say the I love you bit : )) )

As others have said being a patient can be the most undignified thing in the world . Believe you me , I have tales from my eight week stay that would make you cringe.....lol......but it hasn't scared me for life and I can laugh about it now ( even though I still grimace at the memory ).

I hope your daughter doesn't fret to much about having to leave you , she must be feeling very torn in two at the moment .

My bestest wishes to you all.....keep on keeping on xxx

Dear Mummo

I look in at this thread at least twice a day to check on progress and I was so happy to read that your husband is a little better.

My daughter is a nurse and she would tell you not to worry at all about the indignity, they are quite used to such things; they are professionals and will be so pleased to see him get well. She says that is one of the joys of nursing.
