hello everyone, Just want to wish you all a Very Happy New Year, may 2010 bring you all you wish for, and be a good year for you.

Sorry haven't been around for a while, my cancer treatment rather knocks me for six, and leaves me very tired and low.

Love to all.

Far too early to hit the Sauce - lol! Anyway, we are on Taxi duty so have to decided who is going to remain sober.

We've lost Beta Male...last seen last night about 7pm. He shot off (in my car) to a friend's the other side of London, to witness the friend's father's Will. As the Father has terminal cancer and now renal failure, we aren't too sure if he has stayed as 'support' or gone down to Brighton, which was his original plan for NYE.

Anyone got any plans? OH will probably go to bed, and I'll be sitting with my nose in a new book - lol!

Hope the treatment can mean you have a better year.

Happy New Year Jeniwren. I hope the New Year is kind to you.

I'll be sitting on my own watching tv. I'll probably go to bed before midnight, but generally hear all the fireworks!!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 31 Dec 2009 17:27

We can hear the horns/sirens/hooters or what ever the correct term is, from the ships in Tilbury.....if the wind is in the right direction - lol!

Have heard from Beta Male - he is staying a 2nd night at the hospital with his friend and family. When the time comes, I hope he will know when to make a discrete exit....the family are non practising Muslim, and we don't know what traditions will be expected.

Hi DET and YG, thank you, I will be alone YG, think I may go to bed before midnight.
My Dad lived in New Zealand and I always used to phone him Christmas eve and New Years eve, but he died on 8th December, 2 day after his 94th birthday, so no phone calls this year.

Hope you enjoy your day.

YG Report 31 Dec 2009 17:58

Hi Maz. Don't blame you for wearing your pjs. I might do the same later!! I'm struggling to keep comfortably warm here as the central heating isn't working anywhere near as well as it should. There is little they can do as it is old and scaled up. I have to be patient and wait for the refurb work when a new system will be installed.

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 31 Dec 2009 18:07

Good evening you lot.

As is the long held tradition in this household OH and I went to bed at a reasonable hour last night. Some unfeeling revellers woke me from my sleep at some ungodly hour yelling and screaming and tooting and letting off fireworks. I have no idea what they were on about and poor Spot just does not appreciate the ruckus. He spent the evening under the table with his paws over his ears.

My task to usher in the new year will be to change the calendar hanging behind the door in the toilet.

It is a beautiful cool Australian summer morning. Just before dawn. The heat of the last few days seems to have disappeared along with the chocolate, the turkey, the gift wrapping, the decorations, the hype and the exhaustion.

It is 2010 here and I'm waiting for the lotto people to ring me this morning with news of my lotto win last night. Well I suppose if I'm going to have a better brighter more prosperous new year I'd better start out on a positive note.

YG

YG Report 31 Dec 2009 20:11

Good morning 2010 Aunty!!

You can win the lottery over there and I will win it here on Saturday night.

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 31 Dec 2009 20:23

I have had the same lotto tickets for the last 25 years.I have never won anything worth screaming about. Smallish prizes at infrequent intervals. I think it is about time it was my turn. I have been patient.

Just put the new calendar up. Spot will be pleased. It features lots of beautiful pictures of his kith and kin. Also has a quotation for each month. I rather like this one.....

"In order to keep a true perspective of one's importance, everyone should have a dog that will worship him and a cat that will ignore him."

YG Report 31 Dec 2009 20:27

About as good as me then!! A few tenners, although they have been very thin on the ground for the last few years!!!

Wonder what LG is up to tonight. It is a full moon over here!!

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 31 Dec 2009 20:44

Oh dear! Full moon you say? And did Arsenal win. She will be unstoppable. Need to put speed limiters on the broomstick, me thinks.

I wonder how many headaches are waking up this morning over here. You lot still have all that "fun" to go through. The amount of fireworks let off around here last night would keep a small country in chocolate for at least a year.

Ohh stop drooling, you've had your chocolate fix for the next few months.

YG

YG Report 31 Dec 2009 20:49

I've been reasonably good Aunty!! Only demolished three walnut whips, still three left!! I did demolish the Maltesers though!!

The rest are going to work with me next week. I'm not a fan of boxes of chocolates!!
