I thought we were going to do them in one go but I don't think it matters.

And yes Teresa, 3 in one sentence and as somebody with grade A, A level English I should have picked it up myself Lol!!!!!

just read Stellas comments and I agree it is much easier to comment at the time. If this is okay with everyone I will continue. But as you say...Jill is the boss..lol

Stella that's all there is ... I am very prone to starting things and not finishing :( I have at least three 'starts' and need to decide which if any to stick at!

I thought that the idea was to put it all on one e mail so we could all learn from the criticism. But I suppose that could be done as well.

but i haven't really made any criticism Ann, i was happy with what i read..so i just said that ..i won't look for things to criticise..unless something shouts out at me.

I think the standard of writing is very good.

Ann, I think that's what Jill intended... for example I know when I noticed something in a piece, I went to re-read mine to see if I had done the same....

It probably will be better as we go on, but as this is the first time for many of us, it's perhaps easier to use this first time as a taster, but then we can all learn from each other's mistakes too.

Stella I have not found anything to criticise either, I liked them all.

Can I just ask? My favourite way of writing is in rhyme and poetry, but I really want to learn how to write prose. For instance my poem (Dear John) How would I have written that differently and got the same slightly humurous message across other than in rhyme? I would love some feedback..

Although I am a shrinking violet when it comes to criticism of my writing lol ( it tends to be quite 'personal' a lot of the time so a bit like my 'children') , I would like 'nit picking' please.

But I won't nit-pick others unless asked for specifically lol,

Do you write letters Maggie? I think you have to write the theme out in prose and play around with it. We could maybe do it for you but then it wouldn't have your 'stamp' Just have a go with it, see what you come up with and let us then criticize it and suggest a better way if there is one. It is essentially a letter.

I am happy for everyone to 'nit pick' mine. I will scream when I want you to stop Lol!!!
