i think i have read and commented on all or most pieces now.I have thoroughly enjoyed reading so many varied methods of writing.

if i have missed commenting on anything please would you tell me, as it would not have been intentional

Can I please say (collectively) that I have just finished all the stories and found them fascinating (and autobiographical ?? most of them anyway gave me that impression)
I have tried and tried to write a short story and they have ended up in the bin..lol
So, this is where I say, I'll stick to the poetry for now and have another go later.

can I just make a general comment on here , as it is something I have noticed in several of the pieces and it might be useful just to mention to everyone.

The use of exclamation marks , whilst we all do it on here for extra emphasis (!!!!! ) , you should only use one ! at the end of a sentence :)

I am trying my hardest to keep up with the writing - this has opened some sort of floodgate though!

Pages and pages of it!

Rach - IF you put the champagne down, or better still, lob it my way, you'd be able to stay "awake" for long enough to do the reading ... LOL

Sorry I have totally lost track of what I have read and if I have answered! My apologies if I haven't replied.

But it's all great stuff:-) BCXX

I have solved that BC by C&P each bit as I read and comment and putting them into a word folder.

TeresaW Report 18 Jan 2010 21:29

All mine come into my inbox. I read them, then they show as read. Once I've replied to them, I move them into another folder.

It's worked so far.....I think. LOL

I haven't done any reading today, so there are lots to catch up on, and I will asap. Monday is usually a busy day for me. Tomorrow I shall get my corner in the bedroom re-organised. It's been in a mess since Christmas so I haven't really got back to writing properly. So, it's up to my eyes in hoover, bin bags, dusters and polish tomorrow morning, then back to MY space in the afternoon.

Ann and Teresa as you're both here at once can i please cheat and comment on both your stories? Only really to say that I can see both of them as being publishable in something like People's Friend or womans weekly...(though I haven't read for a few years but I expect they are still the same )

TeresaW

TeresaW Report 18 Jan 2010 21:45

Spot on Rose, I wrote it last year for My Weekly, tailored for it.

Only trouble is, someone else had a story in it which was so similar, that even though I had written it last January, this was August, I felt I might have been accused of plagiarism. I was soooo annoyed. Now My Weekly are not accepting work from authors they haven't used before. Damn!

Ineed to re-work it slightly for PF.

Oh I know what I meant to say... for anyone wanting to have a bit of 'advice' on storytelling, I caught part of a tv schools programme today , aimed at teenagers, and it gave some good tips, worth looking out for if you are at home during the day.

TeresaW

TeresaW Report 18 Jan 2010 22:08

BC, think of your files as the sheets of paper, and your folders as the cardboard wallets you put them in. Files go in folders.

I'll have to come down yours in the spring and organise that pooter of yours won't I? LOL

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 18 Jan 2010 22:10

Thank you Rose.

BC you should be able to find somewhere in your e mail list ( in File and when you click on file it opens a list, it says new when you click on new you can see folder ) If you then click on folder you will see another folder appear in the e mail lists of folders. You can then drag all the writing group stuff into that folder.

Not sure if that is clear maybe somebody can elaborate.

Well not to worry, my Mum's 71 and she's never been near a computer, and wouldn't know where to start, though she loves it when I take my lappy over and show her photos and stuff.
