Hi everyone, I've read all your lovely poems and prose, when I get sorted on my day off tomorrow I shall reply to you all. Thanks to everyone for comments on my own humble offering.

Morning all,

Didn't sleep much last night. I had been reading up on poetry yesterday, and during the night a line came to me that I wanted to used. I jotted it down, but that was it, I couldn't sleep any more, so got up and wrote a few experimental verses.

I'll review them later and send them out...not quite happy with them at the moment.

I'll also catch up again on all my comment to those who have sent out. But first I must do some of my non-fiction coursework *sigh*

Afternoon Teresa and everyone :)

I took some folders of things I had written years ago to bed last night , I had forgotten writing some of them lol.

Woke up at 4 , having dreamt I was putting my dream into rhyme...lol so I am going to knock poetry on the head for a while and let my brain unscramble ;)

Thankyou for all the pieces sent that I haven't yet commented on , I have read just not got time to get back to everyone.

I have sent out Chapter one of a story. I would like to know if it is worth progressing with it. No rush though, it is a bit longer than the usual bits and pieces and I appreciate that we are all overwhelmed with offerings. I am happy to wait.

Ann, I haven't read it yet, but ask yourself how YOU feel about it. Do you feel excited about what happens next? Do you WANT to continue with it?

All we will see is an opening chapter, and be able to tell you if it is a good beginning, or whether you need to add/take away to shape it a bit better and so on, but we don't know what happens in the rest of the story, so only you can say if it's worth going on.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about editing and tidying up, just write it, 'get into the zone' with it, enjoy doing it, and let your imaganation flow. Ediiting can come when the first draft is complete.

I think it a good start Ann,so yes keep going lol

Rambling Report 21 Jan 2010 18:46

I've printed it off Ann to read in bed :) but one thing that I just read in a book on writing and which I found reading some of my old stuff last night is, when you read it yourself, do YOU want to know what happens next? if you do it's a good chance the reader will too .

Also that with a story it is probably better to have an idea of the end, when you start, even if the characters change that for you as they go along lol.

I've enjoyed reading it so far Ann and would like to see where you're going with it.
