Good luck Ann :-D

Don't beat yourself up Shelley, when you go out for the day it's difficult to stick to a diet 100%, if you did you'd be pretty miserable, never going off plan. I've been to the beach today and had an ice cream, enjoyed it, but I wouldn't want one again for a while. I think my body has got used to healthy food :-D

Tonight 9. O'clock BBC2

"Welcome to the World of Weight Loss"

This could be interesting, and maybe a laugh :-D

There’s something apt about the religious settings of many of Britain’s slimming clubs. Tens of thousands of people, mainly women, attend meetings at church halls and parish centres in fervent hope of weight loss, putting their faith in systems of “Syns”, food points and portion-measuring cups. For this very pure documentary about slimming clubs and their members (there’s no discussion of profits, long-term efficacy or the processed foods sold at some meetings), Vanessa Engle had access to WeightWatchers, Rosemary Conley and Slimming World meetings around London.

It’s a world where taking a cautious approach to cottage cheese earns you a round of applause, but many attendees’ stories are not so upbeat. Engle barely has to ask and the painful stories, about bullying, body dysmorphia and broken relationships, flood out. Eating is an emotional business.

About the programme

Over the course of 12 weeks, film-maker Vanessa Engle follows members of slimming clubs run by three different organisations, exploring why people have such a complicated relationship with food and why so many struggle to stay in control. She follows the fortunes of two sisters who have lost 16st between them, a divorced man living with his parents, and three students who have been dieting since they were at primary school.

I will add this info to a new thread, in case you ladies don't see it until later.....

Sorry folks I flew in and out again, I should have taken more time to think after the loss of my Mum, about what I could do or could not do.
I have lost 9k since June 30th (it was 10 but I gained a kilo) I will say thankfully the weight loss slowed down. So I am now going to have to manage it. :-S Fingers crossed I can. or I will end up bigger than I started.

As I thought, I stayed the same - no probs though - better than putting on :-D

I agree its all about control, and whilst reading your post Lynda I found myself asking the question why do we celebrate so much when we loose weight is it because we at last lost the dreaded lbs or because we are back in control? We were all over weight because of either lifestyle or because we eat too much and dont do enough exercise. I know thats why I was, I work in an office food is everywhere around me, I was eating biscults and cakes for fun. I would have a tin of weight watchers soup for my lunch followered by 2 bags of quavers and 2 choc biscults I noticed I was forming the habit I think they call it grazing! I would eat a weight watchers meal for my evening meal and then 15 mins be lay on the settee with family size bag of rebels resting on my belly. The thing I learned most to do is control it and convince myself just because everyone else is eating birthday cake doesnt mean I have too. We even went on holiday in June by then I was loosing on my diet and I stuck to it, every night we eat out Itsmytelly would still have his choc fudge cake I just had to learn not to stare when he did. When it comes to sweets stuff and choc I can not just take a little its all or nothing with me, however once a week I share fish chips and mushing peas with my mum, this is my treat.... :-D

Ann staying the same is okay you had a good loss last week.

Uzzi its true you do put back more than you lost if your'e not careful. I lost a lot, all down to my emotions, when my husband died. It has started to go back on and it is this that I am trying to lose now before it gets any worse.

Hayley I'm the same as you an all or nothing girl and although I have lots of control in most areas of my life I don't when it comes to food. My answer is to not buy the things I can't resist. The only problem is when I have visitors and then there is too many temptations.

Not much change when I weighed myself last friday. Just possibly a very small loss.

However, this week I have been eating too much.

I will be renewing my efforts tomorrow but am not looking forward to weighing myself on Friday.

Will try to keep my spirits up whatever the scales say.

Shelly looking forward to seeing the new you photo you have achieved so much.

My instructor in the gym said to me yesterday " don't aim for perfection it's too much to ask for but aim for progress, steadily week by week". Pretty good advice I think and could be applied to many areas of life.

What a good idea Shelley,
I must get to grips with my camera!

Weighed myself this morning - surprisingly there was no (or little) change.

I confess I ate rather more than usual this week, including the skin from the roast leg of chicken!

I seem to be stuck a couple of pounds or so below 13stone!

Haven't got a digital scales (perhaps I ought to get some) exact weight is difficult to read - can only give an 'round about' weight.

Will try to do more of moving my body and less of moving my mouth (as in eating), this coming week.

Still determined to lose weight and get fit.

Being a Bank holiday weekend, and with a family birthday, we'v had visitors, and I've eaten a couple of things I shouldn't of, nothing major, but when this happens I usually think I've put on, often being pleasantly surprised that I haven't, or more surprised that I've lost, she said hopefully ;-)

But I do sometimes think that changing your diet, even if it's for something not slimming, can give your body a bit of a shock, which seems to give it a kick start to losing the weight, anyone else find this?

Hope you're all doing well, we'll soon be a bevvy of sylph like beauties won't we :-D

Evening Ladies :-D

I put on half a pound tonight, pleased with that really as I've been out to dinner and lunch a couple of times, so don't think that's a bad gain overall. Back on track today, so hopefully a good loss next week.

Hope you're all doing o.k :-D

Well done Lynda. I think our " first one to lose a stone" challenge could take a while!

My weigh day is Wednesday and I hope I will have lost the pound I put on last week. That will make 4lbs in 4 weeks.
