George as Gwyn said

Which site are you looking on?

All online censuses are copies of actual census images, The originals are historic documents and cannot be altered/corrected.

Various sites do have the facility for errors on transcriptions to be corrected but GR don't actualy hold their own census records so they will not be able to correct any errors

I think you can email GR with transcription errors

SueBrewer Report 30 Jul 2013 23:48

SueBrewer

SueBrewer Report 30 Jul 2013 23:54

They just said they had many volunteers try them as I used Find Ancestry many time before I thought there may be different people on here who may have chatted about transcriptions before.

George the same people that have posted on your threads on Find Ancestors are on this board and vice versa mainly.

George

You have been given the parents names for John Richard Goodwin Brewer born 1908 on your other threads. If you think these names are wrong then why not buy the birth certificate (reference for this is also on your other thread). Here it is again:-

Name: BREWER, John Richard G
Registration district: Fylde
County: Lancashire
Year of registration: 1908
Quarter of registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Mother's maiden name: Not available before 1911 Q3
Volume no: 8E
Page no: 692

George, Your post asked

"Does anyone know how you can have a census checked out that is obviously wrong and for corrections to be made"

What census? and why do you think it is "obviously" wrong?

can you post the census details your referring too

Roy

You can't have censuses 'changed' George, here or anywhere, all you can have is the transcription error 'noted'. eg on Ancestry I can send a 'correction' when the name Fishlock appears mistranscribed Fishleck, but it is just noted beneath the original transcription.

If you tell us what you think is 'wrong' with the census entry, we can see if it is wrong just on GR records perhaps, by comparing it with FMP or Ancestry transcriptions and original images?

SueBrewer Report 31 Jul 2013 00:06

I've got the certificate with father and mothers name but I would like to have info confirmed on the censuses to correct it for other peoples who are looking for this family. The best I can do is Brower and some of the l siblings names are different on the censuses.
