Luke 11 v 34 - 35 Your eyes are like a lamp for the body. When your eyes are sound, your whole body is full of light; but when your eyes are no good, your whole body will be in darkness. Make certain then, that the light in you is not darkness. Good News Bible Vonny

Sorry Vonny, I always seem to be diverting from the weeks theme but the Lord always seems to direct us to where he wants us and today it was here for me. 2 Cor 1:3-4 [NIV} 'Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.' Now for eyes [Luke 24:31] ' Then their eyes were opened and they recognised him,'

Sorry again Vonny, no Bible verse but a song Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face And the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace. Keep your eyes upon Jesus Let nobody else take His place So that hour by hour you will know His power Till at last you have run the great race.

Teaching about Judging others: Why quibble about the speck in someone else's eye - his little fault - when a (whole) board is in your own? How can you think of saying to him, 'Brother, let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,' when you can't see past the board in yours? Hypocrite! First get rid of the board, and then perhaps you can see well enough to deal with his speck! Luke 6 v 41 - 42

Last week's verses. Theme: Eye / Eyes SUNDAY: ...no eye has seen, nor ear has heard, neither has the human heart thought of what (wonderful things) God has prepared for those who love Him. 1 Corinthians 2 v 9 RSV MONDAY: The eyes are like a lamp for the body. If your eyes are sound, your whole body will be full of light. Matthew 6 v 22 Good News Bible. TUESDAY: I will instruct you (says the Lord) and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Psalm 32 v 8 RSV WEDNESDAY: Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own? Or, how can you say to your brother, 'let me take the speck out of your eye', when there is a log in your own eye? You hypocrite. First take the log out of your own eye and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. Matthew 7 v 3 - 8 THURSDAY: For the ways of man are directly before the eyes of the Lord, and he carefully weighs all man's goings. Proverbs 5 v 21 FRI / SAT: Lo! He is coming with the clouds, and every eye shall see Him - even those who pierced Him. And all the people of the earth shall gaze upon Him. Even so. Amen. Revelation 1 v 7

I Corinthians 15 v 51 - 52 Lo! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. RSV.

I will carry you along and be your Saviour. Isaiah 46 v 4 Living Bible. MONDAY: Bid the older men be temperate, serious, sensible; sound in faith, in love and in steadfastness. The Lord is the everlasting God. The Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary.... Isaiah 40 v 28, 30 - 31 RSV FRIDAY: But the godly shall flourish like palm trees, and grow tall as the cedars of Lebanon. Jesus heals a paralysed man. (Jesus said to the Pharisees): is it easier to say ''your sins are forgiven' or to say 'get up and walk?' I will prove to you then, that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. So he said to the paralysed man, 'get up, pick up your bed, and go home!' The man got up and went home. Matthew 9 v 5 - 6
