Glad to see its not just me then, also have a problem when tying to search a names in members trees ,takes forever then comes up with the error message :O(

Five times before it worked

So pleased I am not on my old internet package of so many hours per months as I would have used a good ten per cent of my time dealing with error messages on this site

Not working fo me either. I get the error message every single time I try to access My Threads. I also have to login every time, usually twice. I sent a message to the support team yesterday. No reponse yet but I expect them to tell me it's my computer's fault.

I tried it this morning and it worked ok, albeit very slo....ow. I suspect members with fewer threads are less likely to have timeout problems than those with several thousands of postings.

I don't think it the case that the function isn't working but rather part of the larger more worrying problem of the site's servers being unable to cope with the size of the database.

So are you saying it's my fault, IGP, because I have over 17,000 posts? But those posts were all to help others not ask for help and it's not easy to delete them.

That doesn't seem to me to be what IGP is saying. He is saying that the servers cannot cope with the size of the database and that is most noticeable for those with a large number of threads.

got in first time of trying about an hour ago ........ using Firefox, as always.

That's the first time I have not had to sign in for several days :-)



Have great problems getting My Threads to open ............... have only succeeded a couple of times for the last 4 or 5 days. Most annoying, as I depend on that to find threads that I have posted on.


Messages ............ I can only open one at a time. Open one pm, then have to leave Message Box, go back to Community Boards, and re-enter Messages before I can open the second. Repeat for every following message.

Ken is absolutely correct. Not for one minute am I suggesting it is a member's fault for having too many thread postings, names in their tree etc, just making the point that the current problems are more likely to affect those that do....!

This current spate of performance problems is affecting all areas of the site and is not specific to particular functions or indeed members. As long as your PC and browser is kept up to date, there is little more that individuals can now do.

The resolution now lies with GR.

I have to go to .co.za


.................. and then I can open My Threads every time. I can also refresh the page in My Threads, with no problem


Most times on .co.uk I can neither open My Threads nor refresh the page while on that board.

How many times does an error message have to be logged for the Team to take a look at the problem ?

Got into My Threads first time ....... but only after a long wait. I was expecting the Error message, but was lucky!

Let's hope that the "fix" works for longer than a few hours.
