Derek Report 19 Mar 2008 12:57

Hi Mary, please could you look up George WAY born circa 1846 Winterslow Wiltshire on the 1851 census to find his father. I'm tracking George back and would like to know his fathers age and birth place.

Best Wishes,

Margaret Report 19 Mar 2008 13:05

Hi Mary:

Thanks so much .... this is the Websters .... I think James must have had to travel to find work .... nice to see they are together in the end tho.

Not sure why there are so many birth places.

However, my question is answered, so thanks again for a helping me.

Best regards. Margaret.

Hi Derek
sorry I have not been ableto find George Way on the 1851 census.
I checked all the pages of the 1851 census for Winterslow and there were no Way families resident at all.
Similar result for 1841 census.

Hi Lorri
Without knowing where people were born it is practically impossible to trace them ,unless thay have a very unusual name.Buchanan and Williams are both very common and there is no way to be sure that you have the correct people.

Hello Mary:

Could you see if there is any mention of the parents of John Tankard (b. 1812c) married in 1833 to Mary Beaumont (b. c.1811) - their children were Joseph, Maria, William, Cornelius and Richard.

Best regards....Margaret.

Mary Report 26 Mar 2008 12:04

Hi Margaret
Which area of England should I look for??

Margaret Report 26 Mar 2008 13:47

Hello Mary:

Horbury .... sorry I should have added that .... I think it is up north in England ... maybe near Huddersfield???

Thanks .... Margaret.

Mary Report 27 Mar 2008 14:10

Hi Margaret
Found a Christening record on the IGI:

25 Dec 1812 John Tankerd,Horbury,Yorkshire

Mothers Name Frances Tankerd

No mention of Father,so it would seem he was illegitimate..
