JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 4 Sep 2016 12:52

Don't know what A calls a few but I always take it to mean more than you can count with the fingers of one hand 'coz isn't that what all the falling-over people say? :-D ;-)

Caroline

Caroline Report 4 Sep 2016 12:55

Otherwise they'd drop the glass trying ???

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 4 Sep 2016 12:56

Last night at my friends for dinner. She made me a G&T. I think the tonic was soda water. Believe me that tasted very bland.

Caroline

Caroline Report 4 Sep 2016 13:01

Can I say I've never been a big fan of G&T without offending ?? Don't know why just my personal taste....

PollyinBrum

PollyinBrum Report 4 Sep 2016 13:12

I wouldn't be offended Caroline except if someone drank my G&T ;-)

Allan

Allan Report 4 Sep 2016 13:17

Sorry, folks.

my son called round just now.

Yesterday was his fortieth birthday and as he was working, he came to drop off my father's day present, and collect his birthday presents.

More than a few means gripping on to the glass with one hand, and steadying yourself with the other on the wall :-S :-D :-D :-D

I do hope that Rollo has not been subjugating verbs, or whatever; that is not allowed :-P

Caroline

Caroline Report 4 Sep 2016 13:21

It's not so much the someone drinking your drink it's the leaving of lipstick on the glass isn't it....I'm guessing not too many blokes drink G&T....but what do I know....

Allan

Allan Report 4 Sep 2016 13:22

JoyLouise,

Plain flour mixed with water; any excess can be used as wall paper paste :-D :-D

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 4 Sep 2016 13:27

Subjugating verbs !!! :-S :-0

You been reading the wrong sort of books Allan? :-D

Love the explanation though.

Many years ago when we went for a drink at The Liverpool Arms in Conwy, as we walked along people were standing outside with drinks. The young un (not even at school then) looked around then when he got his glass he stood it on the low sea wall, crossed his legs and leaned with one elbow on the wall. We fell about laughing but he must have thought the coolest dudes outside the pub were the ones who did precisely that. :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 4 Sep 2016 13:31

Glayva then you'd be talking.....

Allan

Allan Report 4 Sep 2016 13:35

JoyLouise

I have very fond memories of the Liverpool Arms, and one of my friends ( a Liverpudlian) is an ex-manager of the Pub.

it's a small world, which accounts for the smallest house :-D :-D

I'm really bland, I don't have gin in my tonic...

maggiewinchester Report 4 Sep 2016 13:36

This IS the bland thread.

Personally, though I tend to drink Ale and wine (not together), I don't think G&T is bland at all. Extremely nice on a hot day, or if there's nothing left :-D

Emma, I don't have tonic in my gin ;-)
