Hi, I've boiled a kettle if anyone wants a cuppa....

- perhaps not Gins, who sounds as if she needs a lie-in this morning

- I'll cross my fingers that the burglar alram doesn't go off again tonight Gins!

Good morning Ivy, nice to see you. :-D

Seems as though this lot are ALL sleeping the sleep of the just!

Erm........looks like Persie isn't around and Sylvs is still away.

First things first..........coffee......thank you for boiling the kettle Ivy.

Will just have a look in the cupboards to see whats on offer but don't want to get in Persie's way so will sit and drink this coffee in peace for a while.

Dea.....love the George Dixon ref. Poor Gins doesn't know what she's missed....... :-D

Re tops of cupboards. I used to put plastic stuff on the top of cupboards too. My kitchen unit cupboard doors are quite high so, to avoid climbing, I bought a mop thingey from Lakeland - with a triangular head - and I can now clean them from a standing position. The mop is very versatile and can be used for all sorts. The head swivels and reaches into corners etc.

I have a gas cooker and find that gas is messier than electric but I still prefer it.

Gins dear......what makes you think an intruder would stay behind knowing YOU were on your way........ :-P

Will have a little mooch and see if Persie turns up........sure gonna miss those breakfasts of hers :-(

Gee Report 11 Jun 2012 08:06

Well, I m gonna have a cuppa with our new friend Ivy....while ignoring that Cyns woman :-P

It took about 3 minutes to get to JBs work last night, unlike 20 minutes during the day time traffic. The place is a tip as they have major renovations going on, so lights were not available in some rooms......bit spooky

Ive put some toasted tea cakes out, with croissants to see our Dea through ;-)

Dea

Dea Report 11 Jun 2012 08:12

Good morning all :-D

Thank you for putting the kettle on Ivy - a cup of tea would be most welcome <3

Ginns - no - I had not been on the red wine again, I learned my lesson the last time I had some.

You arrived and said:

Evening all...........

Which was how George Dixon (Dixon of Dock Green) used to greet us all MANY years ago on the TV. His assistant was Andy Crawford who ended up marrying George's daughter.

As I said, you are probably just too young to remember them (that is going to be 'your' excuse anyway ) ;-)

Isn't Sylvia back today ?

Dea

Dea Report 11 Jun 2012 08:25

Thank you SO much for the toasted tea cakes Ginns - they were delicious <3 <3

Just Googled Dea.......it started in 1955 well before I was born and ended when I was a nipper!

Is anyone doing the fully monty this morning? If not, I'll get the veggie sausage out with some eggs and mushrooms

Dea

Dea Report 11 Jun 2012 08:51

That would be very nice Ginns - I am sure that veggie sausages will be very tasty.

I shall return when I smell them cooking.

Thanks <3

I am sorry... just got back.. we had to go and get Evan... he was home alone... his dad had to take Anya to hospital .. now they think she may have appendicitis.. then the mum was off to get Maia from Dance after she finished work and then go on up to the hospital so we have him and his jimjams and his laptop.

I was going to do a meal as well...

so can rustle up a sweetcorn scramble... which is scrambled egg with creamed corn in it and will put bacon bits in one pan with it for Dea... toasted sour dough to go with it...

And a big black forest gateau for your morning tea..

Chicken casserole, ... Lamb Navarin or vegetable and lentil casserole in the oven for later...

Persie phew...

Persephone

Persephone Report 11 Jun 2012 08:55

On the other hand I have just given Evan .. some baked beans with bacon for his tea.. and he grabbed a croissant from the supermarket on the way back from his place..

OH is having beef and barley stew, brussels and brocolli..

I am munching on garlic cashew nuts... gee they are nice..

Edit: Gins, I didn't know you were a member of the Von Trapp family? :-S

Spoke to Dea on the dark side today and she had the fright of her life........sigh. I had to tell her that I don't bite.......double sigh......

Do hope Anya recovers soon Persie...... <3

Saw my 'health trainer' today. We discussed diet, exercise and 'me' time. Hahahahahaha....I should be so lucky!

Anyway, I have been set some goals so here's hoping I can stick to them.

Sorry I am late on parade - took me all day yesterday to munch through the feast that Persie put on!!!! Thanks Persie!!...breakfast, lunch and tea - what a star!! Struggled to get into bed last nite as I was soooo full. :-D

Ginns - the vegetarian sausage was very tasty this morning - but dont think that I could give up meat forever! Do you not miss it??? I am not a big meat eater, but if I thought I couldnt have it [especially bacon] I think I would want it even more! :-S Have you always been a vegetarian or was this a decision made in later life? Sorry to hear that your weight loss has stabilised, but keep going and it will start to move again!! :-)

Cyns - what do you mean you dont bite?? ...that isnt what I've heard...! lol

Dea

Dea Report 11 Jun 2012 18:59

Yes Cynthia - you did give me a fright!!!

I popped on the site this morning because I had been poked or prodded or something suchlike on my e-mails and I had no sooner arrived than this message box popped up and you was talking at me. - I wasn't awake yet and do not like anyone to see me in such a state !!! :-0

I DO know what you mean Laines, I could hardly 'waddle' myself to bed last night too - Too much over indulgence on Persie's cooking ! - It was lovely though :-D :-D

Grandson has worn me out today - grand-daughter will do the same tomorrow !! - Orf to listen to the Archers and unwind before sleep.
