another sunny day :-D

SylviaInCanada Report 12 Jul 2012 19:55

we're madly trying to get dry all the sheets and towels that we had to re-wash for daughter

she's allergic to fabric softener, and thinks she also is to detergent. So she only washes stuff in soap powders

Guess what we use for most of our washing?

I thought i had everything ready

sigh!

we don't have a dryer, never had one

bigger sigh

we dry on lines hung in the basement, not outside

big big sigh

the sheet and towel sets (4 of everything) were washed on Sunday and Monday .................. but there were so many of them that they haven't completely dried

huge sigh

s we've moved a small dryer rack onto the sun deck and are hoping we can make the beds by tonight.

why tonight when they don't arrive until tomorrow night??

OH has to go and have the tests for cataracts tomorrow morning. He's going to see the same specialist who did mine 11 years ago, and knowing what that specialist does, OH might not be seeing properly until late in the afternoon because of all the different drops and tests.

BIG sigh

sorry I wasn't here last night

I lost internet connection after we came back from coffee.

It just would not work from about 4 pm (or midnight your time) until I went to bed.

Came on straight away this morning ............... after both tower and power being turned off for almost 12 hours!

I thought it might "go to Dr Geek's hospital" tme, but apparently not.

Huge sigh ........ of relief this time! :-D :-D

Thank you Dea for pinch hitting for me :-D :-D

I should be fine for cooking tonight and tomorrow night

then I don't know what I will be able to do from Saturday through to Thursday next week.

Then the Friday through that weekend should be OK.

Poor Sylvs......that's an awful lot of sighing you're doing but it's VERY understandable. Just watch you and OH don't tire yourselves out before the visitors arrive...... :-)

Am sending you some (((hugs))) so that you know I am thinking of you!

Dea - that's true about watching them later........hadn't thought of that! They are very repetitive programmes and you know exactly what is going to be said when but, you can pick up some interesting snippets.

OH's physio has finished with him for now. He is able to self-refer as and when his condition alters. We'll miss her because she was so nice and she said it had been a pleasure to meet us.........awwww ......

Gins.........we don't have a Mr Nobody.........we call him Icky the Firebobby (one of Ken Dodd's Diddymen!). :-D :-D :-D

Dea

Dea Report 12 Jul 2012 20:18

OOOhh Sylvia - SO many sighs !!!

You are having a struggle at the moment aren't you ?

Do you not have a 'Laundrette' or 'Laundromat' or some such named thingy place near you where you could take all those washed clothes to dry in such an emergency like this ??

I didn't understand this one:

"I thought it might "go to Dr Geek's hospital" tme, but apparently not."

but hope you got it sorted!

And I REALLY didn't understand this one:

"Thank you Dea for pinch hitting for me " but think I must have done something good, to which you are very welcome! :-D :-D

Hope you get everything sorted and enjoy the time with your family !

OK.................

GET LORST........................

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 12 Jul 2012 20:31

Hi Dea

yes we have a laundromat ................. but everyone uses detergent and fabric softener (liquid or dryer sheets) ............... so residues are left in the machines

and OH had to wash everything in soap at least twice (daughter's orders)

"pinch hitting" ................... picking up where I had failed :-D

so yes, you had done something good!

Dr Geek's hospital ...................... our local computer whiz calls his business Go Go Geek, so we say we are taking our 'puters to Dr Geek :-D

C

physio must be pleased with OH's responses.

It's great that he can call her back on an "as needed" basis, and won't have to go through assessment etc.

Thank you for the hugs

am returning some for you ((((x))))

Cynthia
Thats great that your OH has improved to the point that he doesnt need to see her now and good that if the need arises he can self refer.

Sylvia couldnt you hang the washing outside, I love getting my bedding and towels out to dry they smell sooo nice :-)

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 12 Jul 2012 21:17

Had a quick look and Icky wasn't one of the Diddymen but is well known in Scouse and Lancashire circles. Quite a lot on google. :-D

Linda

one of the sad things is that we cannot put lines in our garden ..........

...... first, we are a corner lot, and laundry is regularly stolen from lines on corner lots. Houses in the middle of the blocks have no problems

....... second, we actually have no room to put up a decent sized line due to a big cherry tree, and the kiwi vines ...... which themselves are about 15' high

Otherwise, I would LOVE to have an outside line! I look with envy at my neighbours!

OOOhh - I know that it is only a washing line but that is SO sad Sylvia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot equate that to where I live !!
