Oh boy....what a day

Interviewed eight candidates.....two were outstanding, an Irish girl and a Finnish girl

Touch and go with the third, but managed to windle it down, due to a good marking system

JB phoned all the three (Three posts on offer) and they shouted/squeeled with delight!

Aww........I felt so happy for them :-D

Also had a day of it Gins.

Got a phone call from sons partner to say her Mum (who is having chemo) had phoned her (she was at college) to say her temp had spiked to 39o she had phoned her doc and been given an appt for 4.30pm. unbelievable she phoned the hospital and was told to go in and take a case with her.

So OH and I picked her up and took her to hosp where sons partner was waiting we left when my son arrived.

She had to wait for a bed but has been admitted and will probably be in for a few days.

We eventually got the food shop done and I am going to look for a holiday on the internet :-)

Only just got time to get on here.

Went to the hospital to have the monitor removed ................ unlike yesterday, the unit was busy

2 cubicles occupied with patients being seen by doctors.

Went to the receptionist and said why I was there

she was one of the "pan-faced" people (as OH calls them) ......... no expression, pretended to look at files, then said "Sit over there (a small waiting area), and someone will be there shortly".

Now we were on a tight time line ............ OH had to be in a meeting at 12:30 pm, and it is about 20-25 minutes drive to and from our house. It was then about 11:25 am .............. there was time to get me home, just!

We sat there, and sat there.

Finally I went to the Receptionist again at about 11:40 .............. she went off to one of the rooms, came back and said someone will be with you shortly.

Almost immediately, one of the doctors called out the name of her next patient .............. looking straight at me. When I was obviously not that patient, she made another comment ........ and I said "well, I'm only here to have this taken off"

"Come with me" ........ and she took me into the room, and took off the monitor while telling the technician that we were in a hurry and had been waiting long enough :-D

OH managed to get me home by about 12:10 pm, and then back out to the uni, walked into his meeting about 10 minutes late ........... but they had only just started :)))

The tech said the report would go to my doctor immediately after she had loaded the data up to the computer. Not sure I believe that!

I have the fasting blood test tomorrow morning ........... and have an appointment with the doc for 2 weeks time, so I can get both results at the same time.

I spent most of the afternoon until coffee time involved with a couple of "you just wouldn't believe it" threads on the dark side!

Muffins would be lovely - thank you Sylvs.

Hope all goes well with your fasting wotsit.......you can come back to what's left of breakfast here..... :-D

I hate being kept waiting for appointments too Sylvs and, as an official 'Grumpy Old Woman', I honed my skills for 'fixing' people with a steely stare, to a fine art! During baptism prep this week, I silenced a teacher who had the temerity to attempt to chat to the person sitting next to him..........:-D

Hopefully a quiet morning and then off to see a local MP (the one who used to be Minister of State for Health ;-) ). He has asked for an update on the progress of the Autism Steering Group. He will be duly updated!!!!
