off to have my hair cut


made the appointment this morning ............. and she phoned me back about an hour later to tell me she was leaving in 2 weeks. :-0

The owner apparently will be there when I have my appointment so "I cannot tell you about it. I will give you my phone number and you can phone me, and I will tell you what arrangements we can make"


sooooooooooo ....... I'm also losing my local hairdresser!


as well as the bookstore/coffee shop, and the Safeway!

If you like your hairdresser and think she does a good job Sylvs, it would be worth paying her to come out to see you wouldn't it?

Mind you, you may be like me and enjoy going to the salon!

I was poorly with usual stuff but feel much better now...

Mr H in bed since 9pm...Phew..

He has calmed down so much since being here permanant (a year on Nov 1st)that I shall have to find a new name for him..

And his Welsh is really coming along...He told me today that it was not "nose"it was "trwyn"...!Correct...Da Iawn....

He mixes up his numbers though..Half welsh and half english they come out as...But he is learning all Welsh at school and then English when with parents in hols so a bit confused at times...But tells his mum its not THANK YOU...Its DIOLCH.!!


Not completely calm,but much bettter..

We is orf to Somerset tomoz ,me and Mr H,as I cant get a dentist here for love nor money for him(Welsh denntistry on NHS is the pits)so I taking him to Daddys dentist...Straight in no messing....10.15am Thursday...

Then whizzing off to Dorchester while there for Evs Aunt Kate search((Bang bang bang head))
Back home here on Sunday.

well ...................


my usual 20-25 minute shampoo, cut and blow dry took almost 45 minutes!!


She ended up telling me the problem in whispers ....................... even though the owner was working on the other side of the salon.

Employer problem

Basically, the owner was telling clients of the 2 hairdressers when they phone for appointments ............. "xxxxx is in on these days, but you can come in anytime and I will cut your hair for $xx "($2 less than the girls were charging) :-0 :-0

She was also a) wanting the girls to charge less, so she could get more customers coming in ( :-S :-S :-S) ........ and wanting them hand over some of their tips.

This has been going on for about 18 months, and my hairdresser has hung in there because it is near her home and she has a daughter. Now the daughter is 15/16, and old enough to look after herself for a couple of hours ................ AND hairdresser had another place to go.

The other hairdresser is stuck there until she can find another job.


My hairdresser will be working out near the university Sunday through Tuesday, plus another day to be determined ................... so still reachable by bus, although it could take up to an hour for me to get there.


OH also now goes to her ...... found she's a much better cutter of hair than the barber he was going to :-D ...... and so that place will also be convenient to him.


Cyn ........ I do enjoy going to the salon, and having my hair washed with the little massage they give :-D :-D :-D

Plus, she can cut my hair ................. many hairdressers have problems with my baby fine hair!

Pass the coffee someone ...pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeze!

I have been up since the phone rang at 7am to inform us that our new kitchen appliance (fridge+freezer), would be arriving between 7-11am.

I had switched the freezer off yesterday and all I needed to do was to switch the fridge off.


Arrrgggghhhhh.....I had forgottid.....the switch is in an awkward position behind the unit drawers and I have to take the drawers out.....and....and.....and.....etc.. I had also forgottid how to reach the plug at the back.


The men arrived at 7.25am but they only deliver - they don't install.


Therefore, I have been pushing and pulling the appliances around - including my washing machine - and rolling around on the kitchen floor as I attempt to reach the awkward gubbins. OH isn't much help - in the morning especially!


Anyway, one and a half hours later I was sorted. .....

Sylvs...I take it that you will be following your hairdresser to where she is going then?



I just love head massages and could certainly do with one now........ :-D



I fink I need a shower after all my exertions.... :-S
