Er see reply to Ginnys comment on the clinic. How has anyone gone out of their way to prevent it working.? Hardly anyone has found it.

Dont they...doliver Fans?

They may dEliver Gins, never asked them as its only a very short drive.
I dont think they do though as Ive never heard of any takeaways being delivered round here.
Some people get a taxi to pick it up for them, but that would of course hike the price and then I wouldnt enjoy it.
We are just lucky to have a half decent Chinese takeaway in such a small place as I live in.
The chippy opens at 5pm and shuts at 8.30pm and if you want fish you have to order very early so they can defrost it..!

I wondered if Gins was asking if they 'do liver' Fans........as in liver and onions.....our chippy does. Not something you would imagine Gins ordering though!!

Finished messaging....not as many as usual by a long chalk. Obviously not as many posters as Janey said yesterday.

Oh yea.....Fans.......Cyb??

FannyByGaslight Report 20 Nov 2010 20:53

And what does Helen mean that people are scared to post on there?

I suspect the real reason is that the regular posters on here realise that there is more help available to them on other boards where anybody can help them search instead of just a few.

Cyb???What you on about Cynf?

Hi

back from shopping

went to buy an Ikebana "bowl" or whatever you call ............... that's for those Japanese flower arrangements, daughter has been taking lessons from a Master for the last 3 years, is getting very proficient, and so gave us the name of a certain store that sold them (possible Christmas gift).

Went down there this morning, store closing at the end of the year after 33 years 'cos the building is being demolished, so everything on sale ......... I bought 2, we'll keep one until we go over to see them in July (ie, late birfday pesent for her!).

I love Madmeg's suggestion on this thread

www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/tips_board/thread/1249322?page=4

Put away the tissues. I am on a roll. What it means is that us "second class citizens" can have a competition with the first class lot. Brings in potential excitement of winning the race!

We can all amend our board names to include a star (not gold of course), so I will be Madmeg*, meaning second-class adviser, and we can run our own club, keeping an eye on the Help Clinic posts, and seeing if we can beat the team! I can see some members (JC for e.g.) not liking to be classed as second class, so maybe we should put TWO stars after our names - which puts us ahead!

Seriously, hope all you peeps find it helpful to have this new scheme - but I thought that we already had message boards for people who are stuck - i.e. most of them.

Love to all

Madmeg**

lol!!!

Oh, I also notice that Secret Red Squirrel is suggesting on another thread that people are concerned about how they / we are perceived by newbies and feeling devalued

I do not care if I have a star or not.
I do not care if the GR managers undervalue me.

I do care that that good research is done using every available resource.
I do care that posters and researchers respect each other.

Do requests and research done on the clinic count as duplicate postings?
Are they saying if you already have a TTF then you cannot post on the clinic?

I have seen one example on the clinic where a newbie has posted on the clinic with the usual lack of information but a little more information on another board. The clinic could not help much from what was given and some answers have been given on another board by an Irish researcher. As usual he has not gone back to that thread and will undoubtedly need a letter from the nameless one.
