Hi GlitterBaby, Your first message wasn't answered because I didn't think it warranted a response, I have now replied to your second message.

Gai – I’ve spoken to Estelle and she replied to your email this morning.

Gai Report 20 May 2013 13:24

Thanks Natasha,

I did receive Estelle's email this morning and hopefully GR can remove the advertising asap.

GlitterBaby Report 20 May 2013 15:37

Complete and utter waste of time.

Obviously there must be a big alarm go off when I send anything to the Team or post on here

Nothing ever gets a proper answer !!!!!!!!!

jax Report 20 May 2013 15:48

The Opening post on this thread was rr'd Sunday and re-instated today

There are six or seven posts on this thread that are still under review some from the 17th are you going to do anything about them?

GlitterBaby Report 20 May 2013 15:52

Oh I think another question is coming

So how come some posts/threads sent for review are dealt with in under 2 hours and others take days

Community Advisor Report 20 May 2013 16:03

Hi Jax and GlitterBaby,

Sometimes there is a delay because the customer support team are getting a second opinion from another member of staff.
This thread is being looked at.

Reggie Report 20 May 2013 16:56

Does it really take several days simply to get a second opinion?

jax Report 20 May 2013 17:36

I would love to know what reason was given as to why the posts were removed....I saw nothing wrong with them

Maybe they did'nt come accross as friendly enough????

Someone goes on to Genes FB page and slags a members comment off on a thread...naming her

She then makes a comment about hearing about rr'd and removed

:-S :-S :-S

I am wondering who was asked for the 2nd opinion

TootyFruity Report 20 May 2013 17:59

Just a thought. When a post is removed would it be possible to replace it with a reason for example:-

post removed because it breached item 5 of the T & C's

At least then we can have a look and see in a bid to understand why a particular post is removed. Then perhaps we can all learn by mistakes of others instead of being left to repeat the offense.

SylviaInCanada Report 20 May 2013 21:20

One of my posts was one of those RR'd on that thread on Living Relatives mentioned by Jax in her post at 15:48.

That post was noted as under review from sometime late on Saturday evening May 18 until some time this afternoon ................ I received an email from GR regarding it that was sent shortly after 4 pm UK time

I do not believe that the post transgressed any T&Cs, because everything in it was factual ............. but this is what I was told ..................

" ....... we feel it breaches the following message board guideline:

3. Your general conduct

Please do not post anything might appear intimidating to other Members.

Please do not communicate material that deviates from the topic of the message board thread - start a new topic if you'd like to.

Continuing to create content of this nature may result in your eventual removal from the site.

We thank you in anticipation of your co-operation and adherence to the terms of your Genes Reunited membership"

This email also provided the text for the post in question.

I received another email about 90 minutes later, which did not contain the text of the post, but said I had transgressed the same T&C rule ............

I can only hope that the second email is for the same "transgression".

GlitterBaby Report 17 Jun 2013 15:10

Are we still allowed to recommend Ron & Carol of Genealogy Printers as they have done marvellous work for many members over the years.

Reggie Report 17 Jun 2013 15:36

We'll soon find out!

SylviaInCanada Report 17 Jun 2013 19:05

GR cannot stop us from recommending a company that many members know perform service above and beyond ..............

................... and cheaper.

that would be denial of our rights to free speech ............ and to competition.

I cannot understand why they did not look at Genealogy Printers .............. after all Ron has been a loyal member of GR for many years.

So many times does this problem have to be logged before anything is done as I must have 100's logged.

Community Advisor Report 19 Jun 2013 09:13

Hi ladies,

Of course you can still recommend Genealogy Printers. We had discussions with many printing agencies, including Genealogy Printers. However My History were the only company to offer the best discount for our members. We also really liked the printed trees that they showed to us.

martynsue Report 19 Jun 2013 10:59

hi Natasha,
I was on a good roll yesterday with searching the record's,i have gold membership.

I was so annoyed when I was at the most critical time of searching my hit's,yes I kept getting thrown out by the dreaded ERROR message.
nothing seem's to sort this out,
what I would like on the board's etc is to be able to sit down for a good gossip with other board member's or to search the record's which you are charging me for.
at the moment I have to keep going to other site's to view the record's I have found as genes keep's telling me ERROR.
if these error's are logged and people have paid for a service which they cannot access, why do you not get any explanation or compensation -- maybe free credit's.

09.13 am post from Natasha to 'ladies' only?

DazedConfused Report 19 Jun 2013 13:15

Maybe when contact is made or a problem reported it all depends on who you are

So, if you are in with the management team, your query/problem is dealt with as a matter of urgency, the rest of us can go hang.... ;-)

So its not what you know but who you know

Community Advisor Report 19 Jun 2013 14:30

Hi Martyn & GlitterBaby, if you could let me know the time you saw the error messages and the sections of the site they appeared in, I can look into it. We did experience some site problems on Monday and the team are monitoring site performance.

J Near M3 Jct4, I opened my post with ‘Hi Ladies’ because I was responding to the queries of two ladies.

DazedConfused, I cannot see a query from you that I haven’t responded to. If you could please remind me I’ll get back to you.
