Well, for what they're worth, my comments: I watched the show and although overall I enjoyed it I didn't get the same 'kick' from it as previous series. Perhaps this is because I wasn't looking forward to seeing any particular contestant. I was disappointed in Gary Rhodes - I had somehow thought he would be a 'mover' but he wasn't and his timing was way out, Don Warrington too was a let-down for me and his timing and general movement was awful. I was also slightly surprised that Mark Foster didn't do better. On the positive side, I thought Tom (first one on) was good as was Austin Healey and was quite happy with Andrew Castle's performance. John bless him was ok but doing a 'safe' dance - how will he cope with Latin American? On the basis of what I've seen, I would imagine either Gary, Don or as an outsider John will go out first. On the judges, Craig seems determined to give out negative comments (they are probably correct but he could temper them a bit as it is early days), Arlene still appears to be as interested in the males 'bodies' as she is in their dancing ability, Len is Len and |Bruno is as hysterically Italian as ever !! Interested to know what everyone else thinks.

I too agree Margaret, I was expecting Gary to shake his booty much better than he did, Austin was ok, but not that brilliant. Very surprised at Andrew's dance, must admit I was expecting him to be clumsy, but he wasn't too bad. Phil was ok but as I said earlier was very stiff, probably trying too hard. Also surprised that Don wasn't as good as I thought he would be. Mark was another one who was stiff again probably due to nerves. John really surprised me, he was elegant, and looked like he enjoyed it. I've left Tom till last because to me he was the best of them, his hips don't lie, he can move them, and after a few weeks I think he will be unstopable.

Margaret Report 21 Sep 2008 10:21

No Helen, I wouldn't dream of putting it on here - the offer is only there for anyone who just can't wait and they could PM me if they really truly couldn't wait !! Don't worry, I wouldn't for the world spoil it for anyone.

If you don't want to see the result until later though, I'll just say that John Sergeant did not go out.
If you look at the strictly come dancing forum, my board name is k9fan.

Tallulah Report 21 Sep 2008 10:49

I though John Sargeant was good, he looked as if he really enjoyed the dance, I love him and hope he's in it for a while, sorry can't stand Andrew Castle hope he goes next week, but this week Gary Rhodes should definitely go, he was horrendous! sorry to be harsh.
what about the girls' group dance? Jodie Kidd looked terrible,as some-one commented, Bambi on ice and Gillian Taylforth doesn't have much rhythm but she will be a laugh and hopefully get by on her personality.
Tallulah (no dance experience what so ever, lol)

Margaret Report 21 Sep 2008 21:12

Well, what did you all think about the result on tonights show? I thought from the look on their faces that Flavia, Lilia and Karen looked a bit worried, and John's face lit up when he realised he had got through. I was wondering though - what was Bruno on?... he couldn't stop laughing, in fact he laughed so much we found ourselves joining him - sitting watching the programme laughing like idiots !!

Helen1959 Report 21 Sep 2008 21:16

Well that was a surprise. I was expecting Gary to be in the final two with either John or Don. I know that Phil wasn't that brilliant but thought he was better than Gary. When the final 3 was announced, i started to think it's Don that was going so was totally surprised when Len gave the final decision to Don and Lillia.

Roll on next Saturday, but again I shall miss part of it as it's our Wedding Anniversary and we are going out again.

Margaret Report 27 Sep 2008 21:42

Well, tonight's show I thought was pretty good. The dancers were all better than I expected. I haven't a clue who will go out - regardless of the leaderboard but if I personally had to vote I would say either Gillian or Jessie or maybe Jodie. Time will tell. I thought Cherie Lunghi was really elegant and also that the ex S Club 7 girl was good (can't remember her name)

Hiya folks,
Didn't get to see last night's show, as we had visitors. We didn't go out, as hubby has been poorly with a sickness bug for the last 3 days. All he's had to eat is 2 rounds of toast to eat each day. He managed 4 today. Now he's coming down with the flu, So all I had for my anniversary meal last night was a plate of home-made chips and bread and butter. LOL. Will be watching the show tonight to see the highlights of the dances. (Thought it would be replied on demand but it isn't).

edited.
Just found that you can watch the dances on BBC website so am doing that now.

OH keeps trying to persuade 19yr old gson to watch this! Keeps telling him that 5 minutes of watching the ladies dancing Latin American and their costumes would have him hooked!!!

Helen1959

Helen1959 Report 28 Sep 2008 16:24

WOW,

Just watched all the dances and the boys group dance as well. What can I say? You would think that the series had been going several weeks as the standard of the dancing was good. They all did brilliantly. I can't make my mind up who will be in the final 2 tonight,
Can anyone enlighten me as to who was top of the judges list and who were the bottom 2.
Thanks
Helen
