Hi Tina,

Yes feeling slightly less achey than I was thanks.

That's a nasty feeling having a panic attack, I had one or two after the birth of my daughter, think it may have been a touch of post natel depression. The feeling that I get with the heart flutterings aren't a panic feeling, so it could be just to do with the change again.

I suppose one thing that has changed for me as I've got older is I'm certainly more confident. I just go about life doing the best I can, trying to be nice, but you'll never please everyone. That would have bothered me years ago if i thought people didn't like me or what I was doing, but not now.

These Hormones of ours have a heck of a lot to answer to haven't they.
Another thing I wonder about is skin.I get what I call flare ups on my scalp .It looks a little like excema or dermatitis.Just small red scaly patches that can appear at any old time.My head gets itchy and I can smell my hair!!!!!! That oily smell .It reminds me of my Mum lol.Am I the only one with that???

Pam, glad you are feeling less achey :)

i have just discovered I have tinnitus.I think I have had it for some time really but the last 12 months it is really annoying .I had an MRI scan done a few weeks ago to rule out anything nasty.Night time is the worst,as there is no other background noise going on.I WANT TO BE A MAN lol.It doesn't seem right that we have all these things to put up with.
The yeast thing I will try, although it just goes in spells.I can go weeks without a head flare up.I have T Gel .Nizoral is another shampoo.Ohhhh! life is a bitch sometimes lol.
isn't it good to have this thread.Well done Pam!!!

Well I hate to add to my list of "ailments" lol but I too have tinnitus. I thought mine started after I had my ears syringed. Its not pleasant and can drive people to suicide! I always have background noise except in bed of course, but mine comes and goes I have bouts of it. Usually a cold will set it off.

Afternoon All,

I'm not sure if I had PMT, but I did get awful migraines a week before periods and they would last 2-3 days. I had dreadful heavy periods in my early 40s and had fibroids lasered then and after tests to see if I was menopausal, was put on HRT which solved everything. My doctor referred me back to my gynaecologist in my early 50s as I was so tired and doc thought my HRT dosage may need changing. A cyst was discovered and I had hysterectomy and ovaries removed. HRT (oestrogen only) continued and I was fine until 3 years ago when a new doctor thought I had been on HRT long enough and took me off it. Its all been downhill since then, hot flushes, still tired, not sleeping well etc etc. Skin and hair have become drier and skin not as tight!!

I had panic attack type symptoms after the hysterectomy and have since read that major surgery can be a powerful precurser of panic attacks. About 3 years ago when I was very stressed I had a major panic attack out of the blue, thought I was dying. Felt a huge surge of adrenaline, heart racing, dizzy, nauseous, shaking, sweaty, red in the face scared to lie down and sat up all night. It happened again 2 days later and the doctor said it was a panic attack. I read a lot about them and went on a course about anxiety management which helped a lot. I can well understand how some people become agoraphobic after them, it took about 18 months for me to feel ok again and not have some of the symptoms fairly frequently...it made me nervous of going out and I really had to force myself because I knew it could become worse if I didn't. Feeling hot was one of the symptoms and I would scuttle out of shops and not be sure if it was a hot flush!! Alcohol and caffeine could be triggers so I had no problem cutting them out after that and after having one after drinking my favourite white wine!! I very rarely have the strange, all is not well feeling that is the start of them now and have been ok for about 18 months!!

Itching tummy at night was one of my earlier menopause symptoms, like something crawling on you...anyone get that?

This is interesting ....the tinnitus thing.I had no idea it could be related.
I am for ever saying to OH .....Can you hear that?........No is the answer.I often get up in the night as I think I can either hear the heating pump still going or the tumble dryer, just to check everything is actually off.

Ahhh, I feel for anyone with Tinnitus. My OH has it - drives him crazy at times.
If only there was an answer to it......
Talking about hair - mines like straw - can't seem to do anything to restore it's vitality. Oh well, at least I've still got some - at the moment that is :)

I do scratch my tummy at night Ann,but then I just like a good scratch lol.I think the sweating makes you itch because of the salt. That is probably why my dog loves to lick me and no-one else.Especially my feet !!!!!!
Rescue Remedy is quite good if you feel a bit funny

Hi girls, been reading all your posts with great interest...SKIN TAGS...oh the bain of my life these past few years! I tend to get them on my kneck, got them taken off at the doctors. they're very small but I hate them. I have quite nice hair which is still naturally blonde, well you don't notice the grey so much, but i can't have it up anymore cos i hate the skin tags. Hubby says they don't notice but i know they're there. The other thing (I'm on a roll now) bloody liver spots!! I've even got one on my bum...but i say it's a freckle as it's so tiny, but i know what it is!! Any tips on how to get rid of the skin tags would be great.

Pam.

Just wishful thinking lol.

Jane Report 19 Apr 2009 19:27

My mum used to tie a bit of cotton around her skin tags and waited for them to die and drop off .Bit like they do with lambs tails !!!!!!!!!
I had a few burnt off at the Dr' years back The smell wasn't too pleasant.Liver spots ...........No just big freckles. What about crusty freckle things .OH says they are just sebacious (sp) warts.Nothing to worry about .Just age related.

☼ Pam ☼ Report 19 Apr 2009 19:34

Yes i think i've got a few of them too Helen, those dry freckles or whatever they are. I do have a few freckles on my arms so that disguises the liver spots. Hubby said to me not so long ago, if anything happenned to him would I marry again....no fear i like my independance to much...plus (I wouldn't want anyone else to see me in the nude!) ☺☺☺

Luckily no skin tags, but thread veins instead. Hubby says that I'm seeing things - but I know they are there. A frind says that if they aren't treated they will SPREAD. Oh no !!!! At the moment they are around the nose area. Hate them. Tried a cream from chemist - ha ha. Still as bad as ever. Anyone else suffer from them? Any tips please ?
