RIGHT............... here we go again!
I was typing an answer to yo all, and EVEN MY $%^&* POOTER FROZE!

Hi Jane, we have loads of snow in Corby today.
It has been freezing for days and days, but we have had a few bits of snow; however, last night the weather forecast was pretty bad..and it was freezing.
Son phoned up and told us to make a list of EVERYTHING we would need if we were snowed in!
What a boy... but we are so lucky to have him. He went to Asda and bought us enough essentials to last us until February... ha ha ha
The side roads are particularly hazardous as they are not being gritted. Even those who do salt their paths cannot afford to do the whole street.

Watching on the news, we can see that some places are in a real state.
My sister-in-law & family in Lanarkshire must be having FUN,FUN,FUN!

Margaret Rose.... even a sprinkling of snow in this weather can be very dangerous, so be careful. It may freeze up and catch you out.

To all of you.... take care, stay warm, and get in that kitchen and make a big pot of soup....... ;-0)

Deanna X
very cold, but enjoying the *lock-up* ;-0)

Annina Report 30 Nov 2010 19:35

Libby,I don't know what the weather is like city centre,we live up in the clouds looking over Derbyshire.

The gritters seem to be around a lot though, keeping the bus routes open,so the M1 should be ok.

It's meant to be the first day of summer here but there has been so much rain I think we all need web feet. The weather report says rain for the next 5-7 days. Great.

Even though it's raining I'm still in shorts and a tee shirt as it's very humid. I can handle the hot weather but the humidity saps all your energy.

Morning Report from West Berkshire at 7:15am
Clear a little snow left from yesterday. Cold, but not freezing.

M3 closed between junction 2 and 3 at Bagshot? due to an "incident" from BBC 1 news.

Hope those in other parts of the country have a better day, and that the snow eases.

Think everyone has had enough of it by now.

Take care

Linda :o)

Julia Report 1 Dec 2010 09:22

Morning Gals, we must have had another 6-8 inches in the night, on top of what we had already got. Late yesterday afternoon, all roads out the north of this county were closed, Cat and Fiddle,Snake Pass, Woodhead Pass. This morning, I do not think there is a school in the entire county open, and just listeneing to the local radio, many bus routes are closed also.
Visitations from the gritting wagon, down here, are futile on top of all this snow. The milk man has not been able to deliver yet, but I heared children outside playing about 6.00 this morning, little blighters.
The OH is going to attempt to move his German tank made chariot of the drive this morning, to fetch some provisions, as two ambulances have been able to get through to the end of the street, from the main road.
I must say, as I sit here typing, and the sun is out, it looks lovely out in the garden, but that is where my sentiments end LOLOL
Take Care all
Julia in Derbyshire

PS Annina, listen to the local radio for warnings and advice re the motorway. Julia, two junctions down from Annina

Gloucester. No snow but an extremely hard fros so the residues of snow left on our side road is frozen solid and very icy looking. Brilliant sunshine at the moment and beautiful blue skies. Sna't go out unless the ice melts though, Still very cold, don't know what the temp is.

Loads of more snow overnight here in Sheffield,it is now two ft deep in my garden, drifting to much higher in places.

Did anyone notice the wierd, tangerine colour of the sky last night?

Buses .trams and trains all at a standstill,as far as I know,Hubby has abandoned plans to travel up to Barnsley to collect his new car,if anyone knows of the whereabouts of his stolen one, would you tell the thieves that if they come back, they can have the caravan to go with it!

Having great fun watching my cats navigating the snow.
