Oh Ann G G~~

Are you originally from around Abergavenny.?

I was brought up 6 miles from there, in Clydach, between Aber and Brynmawr. Lived there til I married, now live near Ebbw Vale.

But spent loads of my summer holidays with my cousins in Aber ( very close family )

Hope you can come to the mini Aber meet:))

Annina!

Foxes chewed through my friend's wire chicken pen yesterday and killed two of her hens.

We do not feed foxes here, they murder our chooks Have to say, I have only lost two pets this year, I am very careful, thank heavens. And their pen has very heavy-duty wire.

The snow has virtually gone on the Kent/East Sussex border, although there is a heavy frost tonight. I don't ever want to see a snow-flake again.

Hi Sandie - not from Aber - Whitchurch, Cardiff me, but my husband and I absolutely loved going to Aber and did consider moving up that way at one time but good job we didn't really as sadly he died long before his time and I would have been a bit stranded

Not heard of this mini meet - when is it please?

Do Ebbw Vale occasionally for the designer outlet!!

Ann XX

weather - still freezing, everything white, pretty but lethal!

Still very hard frost here and keep getting light flurries of snow. Sun forecast for this afternoon. Hope the roads clear at least as we have to get to Milton Keynes at the end of the week.

*th dec, 09.39 hrs Still freezing here, temp -3.4. Birds have only now got about the garden.
The mini meet in Abergavenny has not got a decided date yet, but Jude is thinking Spring, depending on weather. From the number who have asked, it may not be that mini a meet either! Should be great.

Freezing, icy pavements, but beautiful blue skies in Ebbw Vale. Was minus 10 at 9am.

Driving is OK but walking is treacherous !

Jean, I hope the mini meet at Aber becomes something bigger, I can't wait.lol
But as I used to tell the children..'you just have too' lol

Sorry Ann...

I hadn't read back and I missed your post.

You come up to the Garden Festival site shopping outlet then:)..?

There are some nice shops there, got M&S now, I don't go there that often,
I go to Asda ..son works on George( still has his seasonal job he had whilst in Uni) and they have some smashing clothing there, and I get 10% off all my purchases:)))

I think the Abergavenny meet will be in the spring, Jude has put up a thread about it , no date arranged yet.

Take care.x

Oh Pat.:((

That's horrible !

We normally get it bad and have grown used to it, but at least our main roads are cleared, side roads different matter!!

Take care ...don't go out walking without spikes on your shoes !! and don't venture out in the car also !!

Annina Report 8 Dec 2010 18:07

Weather still below freezing in Sheffield,it is now getting beyond a joke,no gritting or clearing on side roads, for what do we pay our council taxes?

I do put out cat food, both wet and dry,but even that freezes. Perhaps if we all fed the foxes they wouldn't raid chicken coops.
Having said that, mine are urban foxes, more used to scrounging peoples takeaway litter.

I realise how galling it is when we have livestock killed, but you must remember that it is our fault for having an unnatural concentration of tempting food. After all,the foxes don't do it to spite you, what did you have for dinner, fluffy cow or sheep? Or an undeveloped chicken on toast?
