Hello Kenneth..you beat me to it!! not so much that you got there first, but that i have been storing it for tonight.and it IS the secret link.

DAVID WHYSALL 1905.1759 ..died 1813. married ANN COOK (1765-1790)..and the significant child is JOHN WHYSALL 28.02.1787........hang on to that one........

DAVID WHYSALL then married DOROTHY HOGG in 1791..Dorothy b. 13.03.1772 daughter of Robert Hogg who married Sarah grecian 04.07.1768...............

the significant child of David and Dorothy is THOMAS WHYSALL 1801.

JOHN WHYSALL 28.02.1787 married REBECCA SMEDLEY at Duffield 30.12.1815.....and produced GERMAN WHYSALL at Pentrich 13.05.1821....and led through to the Whysalls of ||Woodborough and my hero W.W.Whysall........

It was the marriage of Thomas 1801 to Elizabeth that led to the birth of ANN WHYSALL..who illegitimately gave birth to Thomas Whysall (Ripley parish records) 20.10.1839..who married TABITHA HAWKINS and produced GERMAN HAWKIN WHYSALL....04.08.1861.....
..so although GERMAN WHYSALL 1859 Annesley may be the 57th cousin 14 times removed (Joke!!) of GERMAN HAWKIN WHYSALL 1861 Pentrich.......................they are related....but it will take a very clever person to work out the exact relationship......

It's as well to remember that this particular lot of Whysalls were Ripley/Pentrich founded..........and it was only the marriage of German Whysall of pentrich to Harriet Walters in Derby.24.07.1848..and the subsequent birth of german Whysall in Annesley notts 09.01.1859..and HIS marriage to Alice Richardson of Woodborough Notts....that actually created a branch of the Whysalls...i.e.W.W.Whysall...thta hailed from Notts rather than Derbyshire............
I think this was an absolute cracker of a job..probably the best i've been asked to do!!..thank you
All the best

Derek.

Good evening kind sir :-D. Can you please see if there are 2 more children of Thomas Allen 1829 Church Broughton and Lucy Hough. I have Joseph,Eliza,Thomas,Francis,Matilda,Harry Lucy,John, Mary,Fanny,Francis,Margaret,Edward and George. I have found a Henry 1863 and Polly 1868 with Joseph listed as father. Seeing as Joseph was born 1854 methinks this is an error and they could be his siblings. I believe the previous page of this census would give me the answer but it does not seem to exist.

Thank you

Derek

Derek Report 19 Nov 2011 10:05

Good morning dear lady.............yes i found both Henry and polly at the time I found all the rest..and i was suspicious becasue they were on an Ancestry tree..but not on either the 1871.0r the1881 Census......the 1881 does continue over the page but only includes Grandma hough and the servants.....

However..Derby Saint pater Parish Records in clude the following:

HENRY ALLEN baptised St.Peters 17.07.864
MARY ALLEN baptised St.Peters 19.01.1868

both children of Thomas and Lucy Allen....

Polly clearly a pet name for Mary

and of course they ARE on the 1871..Mary is polly..and they ARE children if Thomas and Lucy

Thank you so much Derek. Why can't my relations have lived a nice uncomplicated life on the census :-D. <3

Derek

Derek Report 19 Nov 2011 10:56

LA..have just onfirmed that Polly is a nickname for Mary..derived from Molly......quite common I believe in 19th Century Novels.

Kenneth

Kenneth Report 19 Nov 2011 14:41

I certainly will Derek, but sounds rather complicated to me too.
By the way forgot to mention my interest being, my mother was Sarah Whysall born 27/2/1910 youngest daughter of James John Whysall born Wainsgrove Derbyshire in 1868, he was son of Robert Whysall 1843 and Emily Waterall 1850.
Thanks once again Kenneth B

Hello again Derek,I have just entered those two on my tree and have noticed I have Lucy Annie date of birth 17/7/1864. Are they twins or is this entry wrong please can you check for me.

Thank you

Derek

Derek Report 20 Nov 2011 11:57

Mornin' LA............baptism date for Lucy Annie is spot on.........does not mean they were twins...was common practice to couple up baptism dates..or even baptise children in blocks, sometimes years after birth..often depended on availability of vicar in a country parish..where would go only occasionally and baptise loads of sprogs at once.
It's one of the drawbacks of Parish Registers..they give Baptism dates.not Birth dates..and you're very lucky to get both.

xx

Derek

Derek Report 20 Nov 2011 17:40

ABRAHAM HUNT married SARAH JACKSON at Duffield (effectively Belper) 13.10.1823

Derek.

Peter

Peter Report 20 Nov 2011 18:01

Hi Derek
Thanks that looks like the one. I have another marriage lookup please Thomas Hunt to Elizabeth round about 1780 Derbyshire. Parents of John Hunt Born 2/11/1784.
Best Regards
Peter

Derek

Derek Report 20 Nov 2011 19:17

Peter.....John Hunt was baptised at South Wingfield 02.11.1784.....from the original Parish Registers..he appears to have been an only child.unless they moved away.....Parent Thomas hunt and Betty..

Unfortunately the marriage is inconclusive.........in the absence of a place to look..I can only come up with:-

THOMAS HUNT West Hallam Derbys married Elizabeth 10.10.1781..and Elizabeth is shown in two different entries with different maiden names......HALLAM or WALKER....

any other info you have would help me search more accurately.

Derek.

Hi Derek
The only info I have is that John was born in Eckington and he marid Elizabeth Chambers but I don't the accessory of this info. Could Betty be short for Elizabeth.
Best Regards
Peter
