You aren't the only to get confused looking up stuff like that Frank.I always think there are too many too look at.I know that is the idea but it does my head in and I don't have the patience.

Liz they aren't going to leave Ian if they think there is a chance he has a clot are they?Fingers crossed it isn't .As for his other problem poor man! So he may have a visit from Nurse and her enema again !They are so much easier to do these days aren't they.Much better than the old tube ,jug and funnel lol.
Maybe they still do that (I am out of touch now)

I went to put some seed out for the birds just now and thought the Robin was actually going to come to me..THEN CHESTER BARKED !

Oh no Jane, no tube, jug and funnel any more! it comes like a small tube of toothpaste, need I say more!!!! Haven't heard back from the Dr, so presumably they don't think a blood clot is on the cards, could be muscular, so much pulling about, can leave you a bit sore and battered!!! I think what makes this such a brilliant site is the feeling that 'you' can unload your woes to sympathetic ears, thanks guys! The little cat has just reappeared with its brother/sister!! Millie is in seventh heaven, they are certainly keeping her amused and exercised for hours! Even giving Merlin something to think about, as his days are a bit boring and samey at the moment. The garage rang!! they have finally found a fault on the car!!! apparently the sender (?!) for the automatic choke is faulty, and the car is overheating and shutting the engine down!!! maybe, just maybe I shall be mobile again before too long!!!

Went shopping and had to have the headlights on ,as there was fog !!! that came down sudden, no fog when hubby went to work, gone now though.

Your poor OH Liz, he must have pain not being able to go ,lets hope after he's cleared he doesn't go the other way after having the Spinach!!
Is the little cat coming into your garden to leave a calling card lol

Our neighbours have two of those little Tiger Cats ( think that's what their called ) anyway they sit up on the garden wall and tease poor Toby as if to say you carn't get us up here lol

Frank, i looked on confu*ed . com ,you just put your details in and all the prices come up from the different companies , we only go with ones that we have heard of ,there's lots on there i don't know who they are so we stay clear of them .

Have just made a Cold Tea Loaf , that's in the oven cooking ,the times i empty the tea pot and then think i could have made a loaf with that tea. We're having Toad in the Hole for tea tonight, hubby's favourite .
Goodness nearly lunch time ,don't know where the mornings gone .

All sorted, with insurance. Saved over £50.00 less excess and excess on windscreen. replacement car. No legal cover. or breakdown but we are with RAC. Not a well know co. but fully covered under the FSA. So we will have to see, how it turns out. Mandy I tried all the different web sites got mine through MONEY SUP## Mark#t.

Lovely day now, suns out,no wind.

We have our own cat that stays in his own garden. To old to climb fences. I have had to make a hole in the garden gate to let him get through to the back garden. We do have two or three other cats, that like to get into our garden, a bowl of water certainly helps to get rid of them. They use to stalk the chickens,

Back now and when I went out it was quite warm here but dull with no wind. When I got into Holsworthy there was a cold wind blowing and it was freezing. Wish I had known as I would have taken a hat as it was raining too.

I saw a smashing bird feeder in the pet shop. It was like a big round doughnut with a hole in the middle. They had a plastic one for seed and two wire ones for peanuts and fat balls. Think I may get the fat ball one next time I am in there. Should hold about 6 balls in one go and plenty of room for many birds to feed at once. They even had a metal cover over the top of them. £6.50 for the ball one and dearer for the others.

Jane , there is a picture in the paper of a lady standing in the leaves that had blown round her front door , i think it said the leaves were piled up three foot high !!! the council had to come out and clear them up !!
They would fill several compost bins !!! lol

Your right about the Cold Tea Loaf it has got fruit in ,it's the one were you soak the fruit and sugar in the cold tea ,add the flour and an egg and bake for an hour, nice buttered when cold .

I keep wondering how Sheila is , she was so down the last time she posted on here , i do hope she's alright

When hubby came home he was as black as your hat !!! he's been knocking a wall about , he's had a shower ,i haven't been up to look and see if the shower has been cleaned !! i bet he's just swilled it round and left it ,daren't ask as he has his head in some plans ,doing his pricing !!!!

Evening All,

Well, we enjoyed our night out.........we'd never been to the theatre there before........as we walked in we were a bit surprised to see a pair of very badly laddered black tights in red patent shoes at the bar. It soon was obvious that it was not a lady at all and I found myself checking everyone out in case we had stumbled into the wrong venue!!

We were at the end of the 3rd row and it was a small theatre so had a very good view. The band was in fine form as usual but we enjoyed the 2nd half best with the more lively music, 'Minnie the Moocher, Tiger Rag', that sort of thing. I was a tiny bit disappointed the banjo player wasn't wearing his usual white spats though. lol

Today we went to Ik*a, but only got some plastic containers......I really wanted a picture frame, but the only one that would do stuck out from the wall too much. We had a nice salmon fillet lunch there and then went to McAr*hur Glen and I got a top, some black mules and a bra from the M*S shop (sorry Sadie!) OH got 2 hardback books for his dad. He gets them when he spots them ready for birthdays, xmas and anniversaries. One is about how railways shaped the world, the other is about the Hurricane fighter plane.....original cost for the two was £45 and he got both of them for £9 so he was well chuffed.

Blimey Mandy ,my leaves weren't that high.I collected them all in a wheelie bucket thing and went very slowly down to the compost bins as I didn't want them to all blow out all over the back garden lol.If we don't have rain tomorrow I will try and get some more.
I bet the shower has is filthy. It's like when Chris shaves his cheeks(face) in the sink.He swills the hair away but leaves a load of greasy soapy scum around the edges lol if you know what I mean.

Frank that was a good saving on your insurance........I always try the money*upermarket site too for the house and our car insurances. You can save a lot of money over the years and paying more doesn't mean better service.

Poor Ian Liz.....rhubarb does it for me. They say drinking plenty helps too. Not being as mobile as usual will slow things down. Good news on the car front though now they have found a fault......hope they can get a part to fix it quickly.

Mel I haven't seen any of those feeders around here. They will be flocking to your place!!

Fiona, I suppose it is quite good to do that to learn how to cook things.......I can imagine a cremated disaster.......but I suppose the chef steps in before that happens!!

LOL Ann.I take it you are talking 'transvestite'.Fancy having laddered tights/stockings.Glad you enjoyed it.
I was out for a meal with my sister once and on the next table to us was a man in a suit and a 'lady' in a dress ,heels ,wig and hand bag.The label on the dress was sticking out and showing the size XXL.Bless.I had to tell him ,and he let me tuck it in lol.
I haven't heard of Mc Arthu* Glen.Is it one of these designer outlet places?
Must go and dish up.OH has his tongue hanging out lol(for food)

Annx Report 9 Feb 2011 21:23

I think so Jane. I thought what a difficult life it must be.

The place we went to is a designer outlet, not very big, but it does have an M*S shop. OH used to get a few work suits from there at good prices and some ties. I still have some vouchers for the jewellers there. I bought a ring a couple of years ago that they had to order. Because they felt it took longer to come than they would like they gave me £100 in vouchers with no time limit on. I hadn't complained either. It is off J28 on the M1. A much better, bigger designer outlet is Bound*ry Mill off the A1 near Grantham if you know it. There is also a big garden centre next to it........2 more of my haunts! lol

I'm off to the local Record Office again tomorrow for another 'Learn while you Lunch' session. This one is about the internet so I may already know a lot of it, but sometimes you find something new out. I also want to look at some valentine cards after while I'm on my own. OH is at the dentist first thing and then the docs for a bp check.....probably not best done following a dentist appointment!! lol

Will say night night now, OH has already gone........both worn out from tramping around today! xx

I'm off too now.It is just me and the dog .He has just been out for his last wee and is now stretched out on the settee lol.I think when I turn all the lights off and disappear he then gets in his own bed.
I hope all goes well at the Dentist and Doc's for OH tomorrow.
Night Night everyone xx

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 10 Feb 2011 10:18

Morning All,

Same again today, dull and dreary with grey skies and a little fine rain.

Mandy I have'nt made a Tea Loaf for ages!! I had a nice recipe I once found on the back of a margarine packet. Also the other thing I used to like was a Barra Brith recipe from Country Living many years ago. Both are lovely with a spread of butter and the Barra Brith is better a couple of days after you have cooked it. More moist.

I have'nt bought any of those feeders I was talking about YET but think I may get the one for the fat balls. It will go nicely on the feeder with all the hangers on it.

Shirl............so still getting snow then. You be carefull, don't slip over like my cleaner. I have'nt seen her since before Christmas as she slipped just outside her gate and broke her wrist.

Ann so you enjoyed your evening out, that really nice. I had a little letter yesterday which am saving till Monday! It was post marked Leicester??? I wonder who it is from?

Mandy it was Shirl who asked for the recipe. My OH never cleans the shower out. That is always left to me.
