our coffee shop/bookstore has shut down .................... overnight :-(

we knew they were having problems due to the economy, that the bookstore part was not paying its way, and that their lease ends in December ........ so they were going to shut down then unless the building owner would allow them to keep the coffee shop part going.

But this happened so quickly ............

........they were closed over the long weekend "staff shortages", which we knew they had, and not helped by one of the partners being ill (gall stones). But they were still closed yesterday (Monday was a Stat holiday), and then OH went past later and said workmen seemed to be changing the locks. We had suspicions

A friend phoned me mid-morning to tell me the news .......... she's devastated. She goes there at least 3 times a day

:-( :-( :-(

Cynthia Report 4 Jul 2012 20:30

Have bin busy Gins.....

Went with OH to look at electric recliner chairs to see how he felt about them. He tried several out and found one that was really comfortable then he tried the electric beds. It was a bit like taking a kid to a toy store.... :-D

No firm decision made yet but he doesn't want to look anywhere else... :-S

Just been to baptism prep which I love taking part in. We have over 90 a year so it's an ongoing thing. One of the Godparents asked about getting married. :-D

Going for a nosey round.........~~~~~~
