Gins,
At least its not snowing (yet)

our heating broke down during the winter when we were snowed in and was off for 5 days :-(
we had to go out and buy heaters and only heated the sitting room and put them in the bedrooms for a while before we went to bed.

It was so cold you could see your breath in the air :-(

hope you get it fixed ok tomorrow :-)

FACEBOOK USER'S ALERT

Over the past few days I have received 3 spam emails purporting to come from 2 regular contributors to this thread. (I will contact the 2 members personally.)

I can only conclude that these have come via something related to Facebook. My reasoning for this is that the emails use the Facebook names of the alleged senders and start by being addressed to the name that I am registered as on Facebook.

Although I am registered as a member of Facebook I very rarely use it or indeed even visit the site. As some of you will already know I do not accept "Friends" because I have always had doubts about the security of the site. Although the site does provide contact between its members these conversations may not be as private or secure as you would wish them to be.

Fortunately the spam emails that I have received do not appear to contain any harmful material but that might not always be the case so be aware. It might be worth running an anti virus and anti adware check on your own computer just to satisfy yourselves that your computer is clean.

Sylvs, I haven't had croissants in ages.........so nice....thank you!

It looks like a beautiful morning out there.......hey ho, on goes the washing machine! :-D :-D

OH got up and put the heating on early this morning he tells me. I'm okay, but he tends to feel the cold and, certain medications, especially blood thinners, don't help apparently.... :-S

I am due to be 'migrated' today by my ISP.........I just hope it isn't toooooo painful.

Will pop in as and when able....

My anti-virus 'thingy' checks all mine every day !

I have had several e-mails from facebook over the past week or so which it has coloured red and marked as 'phishing' ???

I just deleted them

They don't sound like the same thing as you have had though Jonesey ;-)

Jonesey Report 31 Aug 2012 14:45

Dea,

It sounds as if your anti virus software is doing a good job.

My anti virus software, which is provided by my ISP, automatically decided to put them in my spam folder but did not indicate its reason for judging them suspect. Perhaps the emails that I received, which all contained links to other web addresses, were a bit more sophisticated. Perhaps had I clicked on the link or replied to the email it would have been that which caused harm if that was the senders intent.

Anyway better to be safe than sorry so keep deleting any unsolicited emails that you or your anti-virus "thingy" think might be dodgy.

Gee

Gee Report 31 Aug 2012 15:02

Same here Joy, my name but wrong email address

Good day today: Boiler fixed, new car ordered, washing done and kitchen bottomed

New Car Ginns !!!! ???????? :-0 :-S :-S

You already have a new car !!!

Mine is 23 years old and I still love it - It costs me hardly anything to run and my grandchildren prefer it to any other car they have been in !!!

You lose SO much money by buying new and selling early !! - Mind you, I suppose you can afford it !!! ;-) :-D

Ofset against the Business Tax is it ?? (If not, it should be ;-) :-D)
