Glory be! I've been busy ALL day........ :-S

Up to my eyeballs in housework and OH decides he needs a haircut!!! Okay, highly inconvenient but go for it. Book into barber's for a Search and Find appointment.

After dropping him off, I park nearby and wander into a 'collectibles' shop for a browse whilst waiting. Ended up buy two Willow Tree plaques for my bedroom.. :-D

Next...... to Tesco on the way home. Eventually get home for lunch and then out again to hairdressers. Just back and have decided on Fish and Chips for tea.....
;-)

Persie, I don't 'do' scrambled with number plates.......the words have to come from consecutive letters. :-)

Waves ~~~~~~~ to Toots on her way through.......~~~~~~

Gins? Please keep the hailstones and whiteness over there thank you! :-D

Hi everyone

Persie, love the angry woman story.

Cyn, sit down and put your feet up.

Glad I didn't go to Sheffield as you're have hailstone been quite pleasant in St Helens.

I went to the family history centre today to look up a marriage and possible baptism only to be told that I needed to join the library first. I did explain I was from out of the area and was only here for a few days. There was not another soul in the place. Anyway I complied and filled in the application form and was told I needed proof of ID. I gave her my passport only to be told it wasn't good enough and I needed further proof of my address. I asked what she meant that my passport wasn't enough proof when it was for governments around the world as I cross their borders. She only accepted my application when I showed her my address. The icing on the cake was that they didn't have the records I was interested in LOL

We've got hailstones again, too.

Finished work at lunchtime (no more work 'til Tuesday - yiiipppppeee) took car to garage to have winter wheels and tires taken off (still wondering if I should have left them on, it's only 9C here). Man in garage gives me the docket for the work done - it said "summer wheels and tyres fitted" - I told him to look out the window at the white stuff and said "you're havin' a laugh?"

Went to Costco and stocked up. Fags, wine and 2 lovely hanging baskets (haven't had time and it's been too cold to do my own for out front). That's me sorted for the weekend!

Gee Report 23 May 2013 17:50

What did you get me, from Costco?

I opes it resembled your shop ;-)

Persie I also loved the angry woman story :-D

Gins Please don't share the hailstones we had them last week and it set the car alarm off. Hope all goes ok for J <3 <3 <3

Toots shame you didn't find anything would have made all the form filling worthwhile :-)

I have got a HUGE pot of chilli cooking to freeze for the birthday party next weekend :-D

Thinking of you Gins......... <3

Sylvs.........'now the CLODS are moving in' ?????? Did you have anyone particular in mind then..... ;-)

The 'game' I play with number plates is to make ONE word using the letters as they appear - consecutively.

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 23 May 2013 22:29

I got cat food Cynthia ...........

Does anyone want me to do breakfast in the morning?

On the countertops:
Kettle - boil it yourself
Water - it's in the tap
Coffee (instant), teabags and sugar are in the chrome canisters. If you want herbal teas or real coffee you'll have to rummage in that cupboard that's hard to open.
Eggs - they're in the china hen, they don't have a best before date because they came out of my friend's chicken. It was sometime recent.

On the windowsill:
Carton of Marlborough Lights, with a selection of lighters (the last one you try will work).

In the fridge:
Milk (sniff it first, if it smells dodgy or looks lumpy have your tea/coffee black)
Jams - they're fine if you scoop that white stuff off.
2 leeks
Rhubarb trifle
Assorted white wines (don't touch that Veuve Clicquot or you're dead) - if you want red it's in the rack.
Some beer brought back from San Francisco 5 years ago.

On the breakfast bar:
Wholemeal and sliced white - OK so it says use by 21st, it'll do for toast.
Ashtray.

If you want anything else the corner shop opens 8 am.

First one in the kitchen has to feed the cats. Make sure Eric and Ernie get the same (they like the chicken and brown rice sachets best) but Suzi will want something different (don't give her the beef in tomato sauce if you're on litter tray duty). Change their drinking water several times because Suzi likes to wash her paws in it. Don't let Ernie lick your toast if he's been sniffing Suzi's bum.

Thank you MC for your kitchen help...

will make my own plunger coffee, bring my own sandwiches and not ignore the cats.

One only ignores a cat at one's peril.. they are likely to drape themselves all over you, your sandwiches and coffee and tell you "it's all about them"

prrrp...

I'm just listening "agog" to my radio .......

.......... a span of a 4-lane bridge about 130 km (or about an hour's drive) south of us in Washington State has collapsed. It happened about 7 pm, or about 90 minutes ago (it's still Thursday here)

it looks as if the span just dropped down

It's the Interstate 5 bridge over the Skagit River near Mount Vernon

There are about 3 cars with people in them in the river, and the rescue boats have just got the first couple of people on board. Not sure how many people are in the water.

one report is saying that a man was driving behind a big lorry, and he saw it scrape against one of the girders .................. so the media's wondering if that could be a reason

Persephone

Persephone Report 24 May 2013 06:40

Could very well be and if so ??? what happens next??
