Sorry about breakfast this morning

but I think Persie does such a good job ..........

.......... you're not going to get the same standard of food, tha knows!

SylviaInCanada Report 7 Jun 2013 20:01

we enjoyed our conference, lots of our good friends were there .............. but, boy, was it busy and tiring.

First talk was at 8 am in the morning, and the last usually around 5 or 5:30 pm. Then evening events.

Monday was a day off ................... all botanists have to go on field trips to look at the plants, so that was where most oft hem went ................. bottoms up in fields and forest, looking at plants :-D

Excellent buffet on Sunday night

excellent bbq on Monday night

and great banquet on Wednesday

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 7 Jun 2013 20:04

the downside was .......................

the car broke down on the way there on Saturday

on a great long 6% grade road up to the summit of one of the mountain passes

the clutch went

we had to be towed about 40 km to the nearest dealer

fortunately, that turned out to be in the town where we were going

One clutch and one "slave cylinder" (????) later ...................... we got a beautifully washed car back

and paid a pretty large bill :-(

I loathe watermelon.

Really enjoy pineapple... I had it for breakfast, lunch and dinner when I was in Hawaii.. then I ended up with a sore roof of my mouffff...... it really was fffff sore..

One unexpected event was that I came back to a rather unpleasant pm from someone who has been causing rather a lot of trouble on the site for several months.

If I disappear, and don't post .................... I'll just be taking a bit of a sabbatical.

I was pretty upset last night.

Apparently 3 of us got the same pm ............. but GR won't really do anything to that person.

I'm only posting this so you know why you may not see me.

Sylvia,

If you are still about, don't worry about the PM you got. A minor miracle looks to have happened whilst you were away.

The individual actually apologised for something. Joy will tell you more about it.

The latest 2 threads started have been much more reasonable and less controversial.

Good morning merry friends........well, those of you who are about anyway!! :-D

Thank you Sylvs.......maybe a little watermelon before a full English...... :-D :-D :-D

Trouble in'camp? The best thing is to stay away from any potential troublemakers and certainly don't rise to their 'bait' ;-)

Oh for the days when I could have a good natured; old fashioned bit of banter with Eldrick on all things religious. I could have easily taken the huff and stormed off on many an occasion but, what would that achieve? Instead, a pinch of salt, a drop of oil and a dash of humour all made for an interesting time with no hard feelings :-D

Off to wash anything that moves on this glorious day!! ~~~~

Hi everyone,

Another day to sit out and enjoy the garden :-D :-D

Sylvia don't you dare disappear we would miss you. Best thing to do with people like that is ignore them, Leave them to it and maybe someday a miracle will happen and they will disappear.

Don't you dare even think about disappearing we need you.<3

Ok off to have some of that lovely lunch. Where to start??

I could not sleep last night.
Tossing and turning and wide awake til 6 am.
Finally dropped off and was woken 2 hours later by hubby going off to work.
Dropped off again for another couple of hours so late today.

Any brunch hiding anywhere as I am famished?
