I've been doing it for days just on intuition.

I'd figured out what FBG was on about when nobody could ("kisses" ... "x"s ... yeesh ...)

Those subject lines still can't actually be edited, but that's the workaround for the stupid editing barrier.

What a surprise that post has gone then !!

We have one of those boilers too, no airing cupboard which is a shame.
Ours packed up on boxing day last year, which was great as we were due to have my parents, sister and one of my daughters over to dinner. In the end we just took all our food and cooked it round my parents.
They are pretty quick to come out and fix it if you have one of these insurances....unless it falls on christmas or boxing day.

Thought you were bogged down with "govmint "work JC?
Whats doing playing on here...Hmmm??

O'Brecht..Oh what a lovely lot to play with...Sooo much online at Anc and Beta.Pilot..
Dear Edwin Obrecht birth states, mother Matilda
Father none..Illiegitimate.

But things add up to him being the son of the man his mother married in 1888 not too long after his birth...Plus he gives that mans first name and occupation for father on his marriage, although he does what my Illegit Nan did..Gives fathers surname as his birth surname to make things look good as he died long before Edwin married..

O what a joy to be able to show off a little at the next"talk"and its not too hard finding the details...;)

They ain't got to us yet and we are due snow tomorrow apparently...arrghh. At least we have a 2 bar electric fire which is great.

Just heard that they have taken my friend into hospital so I am mightily relieved at that.

The kitchen is calling....back later.

Hi girls - noticed some posts on here the past few days about certain people requesting excessive look ups.

Now, I don't mind helping anyone but I don't like people taking advantage. If anyone wants to PM me with who to watch out for then that's fine!

Anyone, having bother with the snow - just taken me an hour to get from the bottom of the street to my house (involved lots of spinning around and various neighbours shouting conflicting advice!)

Ja...x I admit to missing my airing cupboard! I've had some super ones over the years and remember that when I was a child, the house we lived in had a walk in cupboard - it was brilliant for getting undressed in the winter.

We've been warned of snow tomorrow..........nooooooooo.

Hello Cynthia,

Hope you are not too cold - I don't know how you have managed without your heating today - Hope it will be fixed very soon!!

Glad to see your friend has been taken into hospital (That doesn't sound right, but you know what I mean)... At least she is being looked after and her husband is able to have a bit of a break. - It must be very hard for him.

I have had a b####er of a day too!

My neighbour goes home to India for 3 months over the winter and I 'look after' her house.

I went in this morning and went to water her plants - no water!!

OOOpps I thought - frozen pipes - sure enough, the water main was frozen, so turned it off!!

Went to turn up her heating to warm the house through but it wouldn't come on!!

Son is a plumber so I rang him and he said he would come round after work and take a look.

Turns out the pipes to the boiler had also frozen.

He unfroze them and got the boiler working but the hot taps upstairs still didn't work so he checked in the loft.

The hot water tank had several inches of ice at the top and the 'ball valve' could go at any time and the contents of the tank gush out everywhere.

We had to turn everything off so it didn't thaw too quickly, and ring the relatives.

I don't think I will sleep tonight worrying about it

I HATE this cold weather !!!

Also - I went to cook tea and the ignition on my main oven has gone ........ dratt!!..... I have only had it a few months!

Roll on summer............

OOOhh - just remembred - 'Chickenpoxy covered' grandson coming tomorrow.... Oh joy.....................!!

What a nightmare Dea........you poor thing. It's such a responsibility looking after someone else's house isn't it? Hope you can get some sleep because you have certainly done all you can.

I love Spring....so roll on Spring :))

Don't you think Fans is 'orrible want to send all that snow to me? I don't want it.....it can stay in Wales thank you very much.

Dea

Dea Report 29 Nov 2010 21:16

OOOhh - I posted a reply to Cynthia but it has disappeared !!! ???

Yes, - I do think she is being 'horrid' sending all that snow to you !!

She could at least keep it in Wales as she is going away in a few days so wouldn't notice it anyway !!

Keep yer 'chin up' Cynths.

Thank you Sylvia and good morning to you !!

The trouble is that here in the |U.K. we are not used to minus 10 and minus 18!!

It is probably no problem to you but we are just not used to it !!

SO - we get 'tetchy' !!! and things go very wrong !!

Our houses are not built for it - WE are not built for it !!

Nasty times all round !!
