Hi all

I'm very late getting on the computer today

and I'm really tired tonight .............. I went downtown!

I wouldn't normally go into town on a Saturday in December, but I suddenly realised that I needed some "intimate apparel", as it was listed on the store directory! The store I buy from is right downtown in the heart of downtown

Of course, I ended up wandering around the store more than I had planned

Our temperatures are dropping .... it was close to -2C last night and will reach the same tonight.

It actually was quite beautiful looking out of the bus windows as I went downtown. The downtown is north of where I live, and north of it is the harbour and then the mountains start rising from the water on the other side ...... they were covered with new snow. There was a bright blue sky, and the sun was shining!

I love looking at those North Shore Mountains (as we call them) ......... from 5 miles away!!

Who's got worldwide Ancestry?

Need a hand!

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/trying_to_find/dwight/thread/1251232

To make it simple, what's mostly wanted is the WWII draft registration cards for these:

George M Dwight California California
George W Dwight Colorado Colorado
George M Dwight Jr Iowa Missouri

I think I've got that one well on its way -- read between the lines now (Ginny ;) ) to see what the reason for the search is. There won't be any info about the person's date/place of birth available to the poster, likely, but the WWII military info might do the trick. (If you click on the poster's name, I think the birth in question was probably James G, 1945 Honiton.)

PS -- there isn't a flake of snow here in Central Canada. ;)

Something to do with a high pressure thingie sitting over the Atlantic Ocean ... we've been getting rain rain rain.

Helloooo, Sylvia. I was posting from an old page and didn't see you there.

You arrive just as I leave -- gone midnight, time for lentils & toast. Slept til 11:30 this morning, now I'm even more out of whack than usual. And still haven't watched *last* week's East Enders, let alone this week's! Got a big morning ahead tomorrow. And still have to watch the last half hour of My Boy Jack to get it out of the middle of the tape ...

Cor....turn the volume down Janey.....it's early Sunday morning here and we're still asleep.......or we were!! Even Dea is not up yet.......

stomps off muttering and holding ears.

Ooooh Sylvs, you spoil us. That looks dee-lish-us. Now, where to start?

What's Italian wedding soup by the way?

Looks dark and miserable outside but will have to brave the elements soon. Will have my shower and I may wake up properly.

Yaaaawn.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 5 Dec 2010 07:34

cor, I don't know!

always askin' questions, that Cyn!

I often think it lookes like Minestrone soup ...... but it isn't!

It's an Italian-American soup made of green vegetables and meat, that is popular in the United States, where it is a staple in many Italian restaurants, and beginning to appear on menus up here.

It's made with green vegetables (usually endive and escarole or cabbage, lettuce, kale, and/or spinach) and meat (usually meatballs and/or sausage) in a clear chicken-based broth. It also sometimes contains pasta, noodles, cavatelli, lentils, pastina, or shredded chicken.
