I'm pleased to see you taking the first steps Patricia, they are the hardest ones because it means actually doing something about it instead of thinking. Hope your rescue remedy helps you. It is a good idea of yours, ringing someone every day, I have got into the habit of hibernating in my cosy little circle of hubby and cockatiel, with my sister calling at least once a week. I never go out unless it is hospital appointments and my children come to me. Like you say I am becoming a loner and you made me think, thank you.
I am going to ring one of my cousins today, don't know which yet but knowing me it will be the one who talks the least lol.

Hi everyone xx I didn't get on here last night but wow this morning seems to be full of good news and laughs! "I can't believe it!" As whats his name said.
So many doing things to help themselves. How wonderful. I am made up! :o) No personal messages today. Where are you all? Not sat at the computer and cleaning, running, out at doctors, on the phone! I'll soon have no one to talk to on here .
Just kidding, keep it up you wonderful bunch xxxxx

Well this is small, even silly perhaps, but to me it's huge - I have gathered all the papers which have been scattered all over the house, unopened envelopes and am starting to tackle them a few at a time. This is my big clue that I am not in the depths because when I am, I cannot face opening envelopes which look like there might be a bill inside!! How is it possible to be so afraid of an envelope?????
I used to be the most organised person, well today I am taking small steps to find her again. Have the table absolutely covered with papers, plus a cardboard box full of more so-called filing, a garbage bag at my feet, and the paper shredder at the ready. Last week i tackled my 4 drawer filing cabinet, full of all kinds of things which I could have discarded 9 years ago!! Did so much shredding that I burned out the shredder motor!! It was under full warranty so I got a new one to replace it.
Been eying my windows to see where yet another hanging plant could fit. . . . . bring on spring . . .
Thinking of all of you, we are having a "severe winter weather advisory" today, freezing rain, ice pellets, heavy snow, roads slick with ice, described as a "bobsled run" by the reporters. My minivan is encased in ice. We are halfway between 2 of the Canadian "Great Lakes", Ontario and Erie, so we get lake effect from both sides. We are staying home, nice hot cuppa in hand.Schools are closed, even the university which never cancels classes. Today I can't go anywhere to avoid the papers!!
I know I will feel good at the end, it's starting that's the problem.
Good day to you all,
Jules,Carolina, Patricia, special thoughts are winging their way to each of you.

Blimey Mary, I'd call that huge, you seem to have a long job there. You have started to see the way out but don't do too much that you will give up because you have a pile of mess you don't know what to do with. Hope you understand that, it sounded right when I wrote it lol.
My brother in law is in America just now visiting his son, got an e-mail off him last night saying it's freezing and thick of snow. It is snowing where I am at the moment, West Yorkshire, fields across the valley are all white. Looks nice but I don't like it, and I certainly couldn't cope with the conditions you have right now.

Thanks Caz, do you really think I enjoy "coping" with the current conditions. I like Canada's weather in spring and autumn, I do not function well in the extremes of heat or cold. Any excuse to stay indoors, my grandchildren go out to play in the snow and I freeze watching them out the window!!
back to my papers . . .

well done Colleen - I have a blitz every now and then cos I tend to just pile things up when I have a perfectly good filing box to put everything in - hate filing - spose it's cos I used to be a secretary!!!

Mary...My thoughts are with you too...well done for tackling such a mountain. You will feel so much better for doing it.

Today has been a better day than yesterday for me. I'd say a 7/10 today as opposed to a 4/10 yesterday. Was even willing to stay on at work to finish my invoices as I don't like leaving a job half way thro but MIL was unable to pick Kacey up for me :o(

The only thing is, n I don't want in anyway to put anyone off taking their tablets as we all react differently n it's only a slight side effect until my body gets used to them, but today I've had terrible diarrheoa n felt alil 'off my head' this morning after taking my 2nd Citalopram.....no means a horrible or disruptive side effect tho as the Diarrheoa will help with my weightloss n the 'off my head' feeling was quite mellow...can't remember driving to work tho..!!..lol.
Seriously tho...as I said, I know after a few days my body will become used to them n I wont notice any side effects, have taken them before without any problems.

Anyway...I hope you're all well today & have something nice planned for the weekend.

Hi Ann, My psychologist came this morning and we had a good talk, she said she won't see me again as she has taken me as far as she can, it's up to me now to use what I have learnt. I told her about our thread and she was really pleased, saying we are doing for ourselves what she does on a one to one basis. The main thing is to keep listening and be there for people she said, she also said it sounded like a lifeline for us all.
I am getting to the point where I want to go lay down with my sickness, at least I have no other side effects, yet. I started my second week this morning, then next week is rest week.
As for your suggestion about a coach trip, it would be fun but it takes me all my time to sit in the car to the hospital, my back is so painful. Not complaining cos when it gets too bad I go lay on my bed and put it into the best position. Lovely.

YorkshireCaz Report 1 Feb 2008 16:13

No Mary, I don't think anyone could enjoy conditions like that, lol.
Hi Jules, glad today has been a bit better for you but hope the side effect doesn't last long, come to think of it, not forced to be one, could be this bug going round. Keep up the positive thinking, you sound happier.

Hey Caz - that was nice of the psychologist to approve of our thread wasn't it - should make us all feel good, it does me anyway. Ours is a free service up to a point too and sharing experiences and helping each other is very pleasurable

Yeah it was Ann, I told her that some of us has been waiting far too long to see somebody, and asked why she was forced (seemed like it at the time) on me. It was because I was already under the Palliative Care Team, I had gone to them for pain management, and still not got it. Someone will ring me about seeing them again. They must have thought on seeing me that me going off my head was more important to deal with.

Glad you have taken your day tablet Carolina and you feel ok, you could so easily have not bothered because of the headache, but you did, so good on you. You had a bad night the night before with panic about the tablet, maybe you had the headache because you were so tensed up? Try taking one tonight without the panic and see what happens, easy for me to say I know, Good luck .
