Did anyone watch the first episode of 'Who do you think you are?'

I have just watched it and thought it quite interesting.

Of course, not all of us can say 'so, the only way I can find out about her in America is to go to New York ' and then just nip over there to be greeted by some woman standing on top of a windy building with all the answers and documents :-D :-D

Still, I enjoyed it .

Dea,

I watched it on BBC iPlayer. I agree with you, it would be nice if we could all do that. :-)

Jonesey - regarding her reactions!! - Do you think she was really Over Over-whelmed or did you feel that she was just a better actress than I thought her to be ??

I also loved the way she met all these 'high-up' archivists and army personell etc and greeted them all by their first names !!

I have always brought my son up to believe that no-one is better than him and he is no better than anyone else which has not done him any favours really as he has always talked on the same level to any MD in any Company he has worked for as to any other work associate, which doesn't go down well with people on 'his level' :-(

Anyway, I also believe that you should not call people by their first names unless you have been previously introduced and are friends.

I once had a phone call from someone asking for my husband by his first name - he was someone trying to sell him rooms in his hotel and restaurant! - he then said to me - 'and what is your name'? - I said .....'MRS xxxxx' - that was not what he meant !!

Samantha Womack
Samantha Womack is an actress, most recently well known for her role as Ronnie Branning in EastEnders. She was born in 1972 in Brighton, where she was brought up by her mother after her father left home when she just 6 years old.

More recently, her estranged father committed suicide which prompted Samantha to start looking in to her family history.

I also believe that you should not call people by their first names unless you have been previously introduced and are friends.

I enjoyed WDYTYA when it first started but after a while went off it because the research was made to look far too easy.

I should like to post again about Mary Ann Dyball :)
