I went down town .................... it's about 3 months since I last went down to the shops by myself! That's counting being away, the cold, and the foot!

I had bought OH a belt for Christmas. He told me 34" ..................nope, I should have bought a 38"

I took it back today, found the larger size, and then went and asked if I could exchange it ................. it was bought on Nov 24, 91 days ago.

Sales Assistant said "Yes, of course"

Then he had to phone a superior, explain the time lag ............. and was given the code to punch in the register.

Not only that ....................... but I got it a the same price that I had paid back in November, even though there had been a slight increase in price!

THAT's what I call service!

Not only that ................. but I then found 2 sweaters, in style and colours that I love, at 75% off, and 3 long long silk or chiffony scarves for the same deal.

I had a good day of retail therapy!!

:-D :-D :-D

Good morning all.....thank you for breakfast Sylvs.......and the lunch sounds absolutely wonderful... <3

Glad you enjoyed your day of retail therapy......it does do us good at times doesn't it?? :-D

I've been busy preparing not only Sunday lunch (roast) but also a couple of chicken casseroles for my daughter to freeze.

She really struggles with cooking and has taken to ordering from Wiltshire Farm Foods and then I provide the rest mostly. Wouldn't care if I actually enjoyed cooking.......but I don't :-(

I'd rather iron. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Dea, thank you for your kind comment earlier..........sadly, it is not a fact shared by some on Chat.... :-( Never mind, it is incumbent on me to stand up for what I believe in. Stand and be counted....that's my motto :-D

David, I like browsing round charity shops too.......I usually look for audio tapes and books. :-D

Cynthia, there are a couple of free online audio book sites.
Choose a title
Have some one read it to you.

Gee

Gee Report 24 Feb 2013 19:03

My voice sounds like that bloke 'Orson Wells'

I phoned sis this morning to tell her I could go and see her but, best not to. I think they have enough to deal with at the hospice, without my germs

I knew something was wrong yeterday, I had an itchy roof of my mouth :-|

David, I have thought of looking at those sites but just haven't got round to it...I keep getting side tracked!

Wise decision Gins. Sounds like you need some goose grease rubbing on yer chest! You look after yourself and get better soon so that you can resume your visiting duties.... :-D

Just taken daughter home so can now settle down for a bit......

Dea

Dea Report 24 Feb 2013 20:15

OOOerr Cynths - she can't use that goose grease (as wonderful as it might be) AS IT IS NOT 'VEGGIE' !!!

Olive oil might do a reasonable job ??

Been using the Emerald Ancestor's site to find more on paternal GF and beyond

Found his DOB 19/5/1874 but nothing on my GM as yet.

Interesting and helpful these localised geneaology sites.

Will still end up requesting of GORNI

Dea
