Very overcast here today and a bit on the chilly side..........honestly, one doesn't know what to wear........ ;-)

I see that one of the famous yellow duck amphibious tourist attractions in Liverpool has sunk. I went on one a few years ago and it was fun but I certainly hope there is a good investigation as to why this accident happened. Fortunately, everyone is okay - but what a shock it must have been.

Going for a browse.....

Jonesey

Jonesey Report 16 Jun 2013 08:49

Peace shattered, my family finally arrived home tired but happy at 9:15pm yesterday evening.

It appears as if their flight delay was not that painful. As the cause and anticipated 15 hour delay was known when the passengers initially came to check-in at lunchtime on Friday, the airline acted swiftly and responsibly. They bussed the passengers to the Westin Hotel in Orlando where they were given rooms and meal allowances. So instead of having to hang around the airport having to watch other, luckier passengers flights leave on time, my lot spent most of the afternoon and evening alternating between the hotel's swimming pool, jacuzzi and the restaurants. They then got their heads down for a few hours before being collected and returned to the airport to check-in 2 hours before their flight was finally due to take off.

My daughter got to spend a bit of time with her daughter before she set off for her 2 months stay in the USA. :-D

My family tell me that in common with other places, prices in Florida have risen quite sharply.

They reckon the best value still to be had is the "All you can eat" breakfast at Sizzlers for $4.99 (£3.40) which sets you up nicely for spending the day in one of the theme parks. :-D

They say they considered the $16.00 (£11+) to park your car at Universal Studios to be the biggest rip-off considering that it costs $128 (£88) per person for a 1 day park admission ticket. :-0

Gee

Gee Report 16 Jun 2013 10:38

Cripes that's gorn up Jonesey. We last went 4 years ago and parking was about $5.00, Sizzlers $3.50

Cant remember what we paid for the parks as we always get a two week pass
