Gins Well done I hate spiders and those big ones can move fast ;-)

Cynthia glad you had a nice day and great that your OH's cousin has got in touch.

I know how you feel my brothers aren't interested in the cousin I found recently after over 30 years :-(

Good morning and thank you for the porridge Sylvs.... :-D

Linda, my grandson was a 'sleep fighter'. I used to sit by him and gently stroke his head whilst quietly reading to him. 'The Gruffalo' and 'Little Rabbit Foo Foo' were great favourites with both of the children :-D

My new cooker should be arriving this afternoon and someone is going to fit it for me this evening. Looks like a fish and chip night to me..... :-D :-D :-D :-D

Overcast and a bit grey here, but I want to get into the habit of taking a walk each day...........I'll go off shortly...... :-D

Gee

Gee Report 20 Jun 2013 17:30

Jonesey has had his remote control, surgically removed and he is sulking in the corner

All good things must come to an end Mr Jones

Cynthia Report 20 Jun 2013 19:21

Had a lovely walk thank you Linds. :-D

My freshly washed and ironed curtains are back up in place.

The new cooker duly arrived and is sitting squarely in the kitchen awaiting the arrival of the gasman.........he was hoping to come tonight but had been caught up on another job. :-(

So, tomorrow in the morning I have the gasman and then, in the afternoon, the tv man is coming............. :-S

I'd wondered where our Jonesey had got to.......... :-S

OOOhhh Cynthia !

I do sometimes wish you would re-phrase what you are trying to tell us ....

"So, tomorrow in the morning I have the gasman and then, in the afternoon, the tv man is coming............. "

You sounds like a 'lady of the night' on the day shift !!! ;-) :-D :-D

SylviaInCanada Report 21 Jun 2013 05:08

It was rainy here all day today (Thursday), and much cooler than it should be.

I shouldn't complain about the amount we had though ...................

The south-western part of Alberta has had incredible rains for the last 24 or so hours, and there is major flooding.

A State of Emergency has been declared for Calgary .............. and up to 100,000 people could be forced to evacuate within the next couple of days as the flood waters reach there.

A low pressure system moving westward from eastern Canada has come up against the Rocky Mountains, and met cold air ................ bad news, apparently

So, that area has still more rain in the forecast .............. just less than they've had!

I think we also have rain or more likely showers in our forecast ............. and I doubt that system will get over the Rockies to get to us ............ our rain comes from the west, over the Pacific Ocean

We are a little worried about the Calgary situation though ................. OH's cousin-by-marriage is currently staying with friends there. He's due to arrive here on July 1st. We're hoping they are OK, and not affected by the flooding.

Actually B and his friend are probably climbing in the Rockies!

Jonesey Report 21 Jun 2013 10:50

Good morning campers,

Thank you to those who have expressed concern that I have not been amongst you for the past few days. It is always nice to be missed. I note that some theories as to why have been expressed so I would like to say at the outset that I am not sulking nor am I recovering from surgery to remove the remote control from my grasp. The need for that operation was removed some time ago thanks to the acquisition of a second large flat screen television and a Sky Multiroom subscription.

The real reason for my absence is that I am not very well at the moment. I have not been sleeping well during the nights and as a consequence I feel all week and wallaby during the days. Getting out of bed in the morning is just about the most energetic thing that I have done for the past week. I know that my, "Best By" date is well behind me now and I suspect that my, "No good to man nor beast" date is not that far ahead of me. All I can do is hope that whatever ails me sorts itself out quickly allowing me to spend more time on the computer and less time lying prone on the settee.

I did try to help someone out on the Genealogy Chat board yesterday morning but I found that I could not concentrate properly so I backed off.
