Good morning my friends.... :-)

Sounds like everyone has been having a hectic time...........

Thank you for breakfast Sylvs......I am going to be extra extra good and stick with my porridge. I have to go for my annual cholesterol test soon :-(

Linds, you must have been meeting yourself coming backwards. That's a really upsetting and annoying thing to happen to your son - hope it gets sorted out very soon.

Parking......sheeesh....a rip off indeed. When I did my voluntary work at the hospital, we had so many complaints about cost and lack of, parking. If people didn't have high blood pressure when they arrived at the hospital, they sure had it when they reached whichever clinic they were going to.

Fell off a horse which was standing still??? Ah.....drunk in charge of a mount eh?? ;-)

Seems as though Spring has sprung with everyone having a good old tidy out! Even though we downsized when we retired, I still have a clear out now and then. I try and keep things under control - ready to make it easy for the kids when they have to clear up after we have left this mortal coil.... :-D :-D :-D

Had a lovely evening/night with the family last night. A takeaway followed by a look at some old photos - just to embarrass my son on Father's Day.....his children thought that some of his fashions were hysterical and, as for a picture of him with a former girlfriend.......it brought the house down :-D

Must go.......Mount Everest of Ironing awaits me.....~~~~~~

Persephone Report 17 Jun 2013 11:45

Well not so much fell ... more sort of slid...... and then ended up underneath that horse and another one.

No had not been drinking.

How come Cyns you always have a mountain of ironing??? Do you do the neighbour's ironing as well... it seems to be never ending? :-S :-S :-S :-S

Persie :-)

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 17 Jun 2013 12:20

Probably cos I irons wot others don't Persie :-D

The only things I DON'T iron are towels and tights :-D :-D :-D

Yes, I iron underwear, bedding and tea towels. ;-)

I'm sorry, must go........it's all that laughing at you sliding round and under a horse. What a sight that must have been..........hahahahahha

Fans .... What you mean to say is ... I have not ridden on a horse for c 10 years
You bin riding all over on that broomstick of yours .... <3

Know how you feel ... I had not ridden for years and was amazed to find I could still trot and canter ..... And popped over a largish log .... Only rode for 10 mins or so

Took me 10 days to recover ...... The inside of my legs were agony

Loves to all

Hello Everyone,

Our hospitals have now reverted to free parking and not before time. I think it was the worst idea ever as the last thing anyone needs to worry about when attending/visiting hospital is paying for parking or worrying about going over the allowed time.

Falling off horses being chased by cows :-)

Persie our hall was artexed and yes it had asbestos we were told the best thing to do was to plaster over it so we have :-D

Cynthia - Looking at old photos is always fun though I am not sure if your son would agree at the moment ;-)

Now that reminds me I have some photos to organise hopefully in the next few days :-)

Now if only I can persuade OH to start some spring clear out :-0

Gee Report 17 Jun 2013 18:13

Dea

Just in case you go to bed before I get back good luck tomorrow hope all goes to plan <3 <3 <3

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 17 Jun 2013 18:29

But the pleasure of throwing a crisply ironed, white cotton sheet across a bed is so worth it.

I have a white 'boil' wash each week and it is all freshly iron - includes underwear ;-)

I was brought up to iron tea towels by my mum who taught me that, in the old days, they were sometimes used as emergency 'bandages' in kitchen accidents. Ironing killed any lurking bacteria. Mine are ironed and neatly piled into a drawer in the kitchen. :-D

I don't iron anything unless I absolutely HAVE to .................

that sometimes means, getting the ironing board out at the very last minute.

I last had the ironing board and iron out about 6 weeks ago.

Hi all,

Cynthia I iron my tea towels too, not sure why, must be something my mum always did...it is nice to have fresh pressed tidy tea towels :)

Hope everyone is well, still cold here...not raining but foggy.

Am tired today, small daughter kept waking me up to tell me it was okay to sleep in as we had today off (no idea where she got that from!)

Sent her off to childcare with a big Teddy, as they are having a teddy bear picnic today. For some reason she has renamed her bear to Giorgio (must be a nod to her italian cousins she met) :)

Hope everyone has a nice day today

I forgot to mention ...............

The widow of our friend who died early in May was at the conference we were at 10 days ago ................ she is doing very well. A couple of little weepy moments, but only momentarily.

She's having a "Toast" for her husband this coming Saturday ............. he had an incredible wine cellar, so she hopes that a few bottles will be emptied!

We're going over there for the "Toast", will stay overnight in a nearby hotel, then come home on Sunday.

can someone do food for Sunday, please?????????????

I certainly hope I don't iron like my mother... she would not have an ironing board, used the kitchen table and on top of that was an old army blanket and on top of that an old sheet. And thus the ironing began... she literally bashed the poor clothes into submission and the irons of yesterday were solid not these lightweight steam ones.

OH wondered what was going on the first time he heard it, we were in the garage downstairs and she was in the dining area bashing away... He said to me what is she doing and I said "she is telling the pillow cases with each bash as she folds them, you knife crease or else."

I thought she had come back to haunt me on my roof once... I went outside and looked up to see what all the noise was and there were about six seagulls doing crash landings on the corrugated iron.

............. my friends laughed to Cyns at me lying there... but the horses did not neigh and they were very good they stood still as. They were probably shocked :-0
