Good morning - good to see you back Sylvs and thank you for breakfast - porridge and banana for me please. :-D

It sounds as though the event was entirely fitting to your friend's life and it's good that all went well and according to plan. :-)

Linds......heave that ironing my way - I'm happy to do it. Mind you, it will have to be tomorrow as, this afternoon, I am taking grandson to the dentist for TWO appointments :-S After that, I will pick his sister up and then go and see their other grandma who is rather poorly at the moment. :-(

I'm considering buying a new printer - not a super-duper effort - just one that won't be so expensive in ink consumption!!! I have fits and starts of printing and so, meantime, the ink tends to dry up and is rendered useless and means I have to buy more. Sigh... will break the news to OH when we are in a suitable place ;-)

Going to get rid of some cardboard and shredded paper this morning.......what fun!!! :-D

Good morning –

Just had to add after reading Jonesey’s posting re attire to wear at a funeral.

My best friend’s daughter died of cf at the age of 21. As only family and (daughter’s) friends were ‘invited’ to the funeral, we didn’t attend. However, we were told that everyone was asked to dress to represent the places they remember sharing time with her. Consequently the young people turned up in beach clothes – wet suits, sarongs, ra-ra skirts as well as Clubbing gear.
They attracted some very peculiar looks from the Mourners waiting to go in to the Crem for the next service
:-D

Aw, Det, that's lovely

I had a student who died in a road accident. His wife wanted people to attend the funeral in BRIGHT colours

I went wearing, black trousers and a bright RED top....I was the only one who did so! Felt a prat but thought of his wife and him............it's what they wanted

.......so, I'm glad I did it

some lovely stories about funerals.

Black if not commonly seen over here among mourners, even close family.

We tend to wear whatever we feel like .............. or feel good in. Most people don't go in "tatters", will put "decent" clothes on.

Yesterday, everyone was wearing summer clothes.

Oooooooooh look who came to visit..........has she gorn now?

I don't mean DET of course......hi DET, lovely to see you...... :-D

Black is still worn as a sign of respect, to most funerals around here. Have to admit that I only really attend church funerals, so maybe I miss out on those which are 'different'. :-)

Linds......I don't send letters to new posters on old threads anymore - haven't done so for quite a while now. There are so many of them and it was taking me too long. Sorry :-(

Picked up grandson to take him to the dentist and he got into the car and told me he felt sick. Lovely. Not. As we was really pale and I didn't fancy having to hose the inside of the car down, I took him home instead. He had a little sleep and seemed a bit better afterwards. Kids eh??

Nearly bedtime.......see you tomorrow..... ~~~~~~

Good morning everyone :-)

Thank you for the tea Ginns, and for the lovely breakfast Slvia .... <3 <3

Cynths - I hope your grandson is feeling better now - do you think that it was just a fear of the dentist, or something else?

I don't mind going to the denstist but my 'big strong' husband is terryfied ! - He almost goes green at even the though of a visit :-D :-D :-D

Good morning :-D

Thank you Sylvs.....I'll have cold cereal and a banana today please - am trying very hard to be good. It's such an effort though :-(

Dea, my grandson isn't afraid of the dentist - he's really good about going. I'll find out later how he is but I think it was just a passing 'thing'. The teenage years aren't easy poor things. ;-)

Having had my routine interrupted yesterday, today is the day to tackle my beloved ironing.......... :-D :-D :-D :-D Pass it over Linds....

But first.........because it's such a lovely day, I may join my OH on his walk - when his meds kick in :-)

Going for a quick browse.... ~~~~~~~

Linda

Linda Report 25 Jun 2013 11:45

Hello Everyone :-D

Cynthia hope your grandson is better today.

Thanks for the offer but I was a good girl yesterday and finished all my ironing.

Even brought in the washing and ironed it :-D

Don't know what we are up to today perhaps a lazy day as we have to fortify ourselves for GD duty tomorrow ;-)

I wonder where David is hiding :-(

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 25 Jun 2013 13:32

Went for a lovely walk this morning - the sun was shining and the birds were singing, I paused by a gate leading into a field just to absorb it all. Wonderful :-)

Came home and started on my ironing and then got a phone call to say someone is calling this afternoon...........so it could be a long haul later on! :-S

Gee

Gee Report 25 Jun 2013 17:27

Good girl Linds, I'll bring mine to Liverpool in Sept

I've had a hectic day but whats new........luckily it didn't involve ironing

:-0

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 25 Jun 2013 18:40

Would it be easier for me to bring my iron with me if I make it to Liverpool??? You could form an orderly queue..... :-D :-D

Finished my lot of ironing whilst listening to a thriller but was interrupted by a visitor. soon got back to it though..... :-D

How's your sister today Gins? <3
