Gins, it's only three hours since I managed to post on here - do calm down dear. I've been doing exciting things like going out to buy stuff I forgot to buy earlier. Cooking tea, washing up, long phone calls from lonely people ....... stuff like that.

However, I am back but will disappear again to do some messaging. I will return. So behave.

Hi all

I is here

for a little while, anyway

Going to a Golden Wedding celebration later ..... buffet dinner and dance

Gins ....... I say Lat ..ay

....... and I have Soy 'cos I am dairy intolerant and can't drink milk. After about 5 years of having to drink soy, I still shake a good dollop of cinnamon on top of the soy foam to make it palatable!

behave????????????????

you think this lot can behave????

I had just got out of the shower this morning, just about to blow dry hair (so I wouldn't have to it later today) .................. and my closest friend phoned.

One hour later ............................................

I just can't do a thing with my hair now!

But I will have to try before we go out for the evening

YEuk

One of my sons had to have wysoy milk.

Smelt disgusting.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 3 Jul 2010 20:47

LK

I don't mind it on cereal .................. it's quite creamy tasting. I was told to use soy after having breast cancer back in 1995

But I can't get used to drinking it or having it in coffee .......... it curdles when put in hot tea or coffee.

Having it foamed and dousing it with cinnamon is the only way I can drink it ........... I just cannot drink coffee black.

I have found that there is a big difference between brands, and you have to try different ones until you find one that you like.

My daughter drinks rice milk as her alternative to milk

I only drink black filter coffee but not as strong as OH.

I went off milk in tea or coffee a few pregnancies ago and never went back on it. I do drink lemon and ginger tea.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 3 Jul 2010 21:15

I drink usually camomile, peppermint, or fennel tea .. but have several others in the cupboard, such as ginger mint, camomile lemon, etc.

I also have my night time herbal tea to help me sleep .... either Sleepytime or Extra Sleepytime.

Plus some real teas as well for those who want Darjeeling, English Breakfast, Earl Grey, etc etc

The only thing that pregnancy stopped me eating was fresh salmon

Now THAT was disgraceful!!! The best freshest sockeye salmon tasted just like cotton wool.

Fortunately, my taste came back after the pregnancy was over!

Have you tried using a piece of root ginger and a slice of lemon.

Cynthia Report 3 Jul 2010 21:26

Well, that's tonight's lot done and dusted.

Now, where's Gins after all that???

I had soya milk whilst going through the menopause and am sure it helped. You get used to it and it's not that bad really.

So, a night on the tiles for our Sylv then? What are you wearing then....c'mon, tell all. Wash your hair again and start afresh....should work.

Fans is a bit quiet........... yoo hoo, Fans. You can stop painting for a bit now.

C

not sure how dressy the event will be ..... things tend NOT to be very dressy over here, or we don't move in those circles :))))

But, I've decided on

Black maxi-length skirt, slightly flared but also has a knee-high slit at the back

White top, short sleeves, with "diamond" shiny stones set at intervals around the scoop neck (not a very low neck!)

Drop-style diamante earrings (don't own any diamond ones .... should I ask OH for some for Christmas????)

Black pashmina stole

Unfortunately, I won't be able to wear what a much older friend (now dead) used to call "pretty shoes". Knee still sore, ankle and foot still slightly swollen

Do I pass muster, Miss???
