That's right, no games, you people are suffering all that weather "from Canada". We laugh abouth how every time you get a bit of snow, it's our fault. Blame Canada! ;)

Where I am in Ontario, we have not had a single flake in days. Well, a few days ago we got a light dusting, I guess. In the deep southwest of Ontario, they're still digging out from the enormous dumps they've got, I imagine.

One person did die in the big awful traffic/weather incident not far from where I grew up. Police closed the 4-lane highway from London Ont to the US border at Sarnia -- about an hour's drive, and as I recall it, hardly any traffic usually. So stupid people decided to drive anyway, just do it on secondary highways.

The video of tractor-trailers and cars littering the landscape was quite impressive. they took in helicopters to get people out of their cars to safety -- you'd freeze to death if you ran out of gas, or die if snow blocked your tailpipe. Or, of course, if you decided to try to walk somewhere. One man was found dead 50 yards from his car.

I know we all never think the weather is so bad we just plain can't drive in it, somehow, but sometimes, it just is.

You people stay home!

Lambton County officials lifted the state of emergency Thursday morning and the OPP reopened Highway 402 between London and Sarnia. The highway, as seen in this Wednesday photo, was hit hard by a snowstorm at the beginning of the week.

Oh, the eye, I don't know, I keep missing my opthalmologist appointments. For a few days it's just been really sore and photosensitive. Ignore me, I'll go whine quietly to myself ...

Mine were mostly in Europe, Canada, America and Latin America, Mexico + Hawaii etc

I did do Barbados though - I will look up where I stayed!!

Like me though, with health problems, you probably cannot do them any more??

Janey that was a quick nap. With your workload you really need to look after yourself, especially your eye.

But sometimes it's difficult to switch off

The furthest I have been since thursday evening at 7Pm when I got back from that stupid course I had to attend is to the bird table to put food out for them..All of about 5 meters Janey..I really loathe snow,have since I was child and always will I guess..
Its snowing again and we already have 12 inches here. Uch

Yep got the money but cant do it now

Forgot about Hawaii and Mexico but they were not that posh.

I did'nt like Barbadosit was too expensive we could'nt afford to eat in the hotel so we lived on pizza's while there and left early too and came home.

When we went to Hawaii we booked a week on oahu and a week on Hawaii Island , we spent a day on Hawaii Island it was horrid where we were damp and volcanic ex had booked wrong side of the Island

We have had pouring rain all day --- hope it does not end up like last Christmas when 3/4 of the mountains fell down and water falls appeared everywhere

We were cut of for 4 days - our village road slipped down to the valley bottom

and my back garden slipped on to my terrace steps and side patio

Barbdos was LOVELY !! but that was when we were there for free !!!

We looked to go back a few years later but it was SO expensive - we booked a 2 week LUXURY holiday in Mexico for less than the price of a 'basic' week in Barbados !!!

Shame, but there it is !!

It looks pretty on the Christmas cards and through the window but it puts such a halt on normal life, it's such a nuisance.

OH is trapped inside the house, no gritters out here even though we are on a main road. More "wintry showers" expected.

I think with the Barbados holiday which also included florida we got the flights free with Pan Am just before they stopped one and only time I travelled 1st class too, hotels were cheaper than normal but did'nt include meals. As we had already spent our money the week before on the theme parks it spoilt it

I have not been out of the house since the 1st November and really dont want to go to my parents next week if its like this, they may only live a mile away but I have to get to the car first.

I had a friend at school who I know married someone called Smith he was her childhood sweetheart. On Friends reunited she says his name was Smith but when I found her on FB she had a different name so thought she had re-married.
Looked up this marriage and he had obviously changed his name before they married....how confusing
