Morning all.....what a funny evening/morning

I went to bed and read for a while, fast asleep and JB comes home from his Christmas meal and 'drinkathon'

Professes his undying love and how wonderful I am then falls fast asleep....oh good I think

An hour or so later he’s rambling on again.......

Anyhow this morning our bedroom smells like the local boozer and JB has MAJOR hangover! He’s gone to work still intoxicated I think, thank goodness he walks to work

I told him to get a bacon butty on the way in and then chips for lunch, that should sort him....ready for the Friday night gang ;)

His hedonistic student days are well and truly OVER!

Can't take it like he used to eh Gins????? Age will out and all that! Take care of him and spoil him when he gets home.

Thank you for breakfast Sylvs.....we're gonna miss you when you go away!

We went on a tour of the Corrie set many moons ago and were surprised at how small it was. I think they shot the Sherlock Holmes series in the same complex - the one with Jeremy Brett in - very realistic but, again, so small.

Dull and damp here today. No snow. :))))

I noticed ancestry had added the 1911 books? onto their site. I was waiting to see whether to renew on there or not...

My subscription ended on genes yesterday as well...But as they have now got the hand written version of the 1911 census ...Genes won...

I could already see the typed versions but thought It would be interested to see them..The handwritten ones lol.

The books on ancestry I could see the same version on here....No information gained there
Do you all have some sort of subscription on here,,,Was there a cheaper way just to talk to people and to ask for there help.. Do you know what I mean?

Gee

Gee Report 10 Dec 2010 09:45

Not sure what you mean by a cheaper way to talk to people. I pay £9.95 every six months for the standard sub to Genes

I dont go in fo the Gold membership on GR as Ancestry has so much more to offer

Patricia

Patricia Report 10 Dec 2010 10:07

Thanks for that Ginny... my subscription is to see everything on here

In six months time it is up for renewel ...Just renewed lol ...so I will just take the standard sub for genes and go back onto ancestry... to see the 1911 census records on here you had to take Platinum subs... couldnt just pay for them seperate...

My tree is on Ancestry but needed to get younger family members from the 1911 to try and make more contacts...

But I seem to have come to a standstill...Perhaps over the next 6 months more people will start their trees lol..

Patricia, I've often noticed that folk on here don't rate the Platinum membership on here very highly. I pay £9.95 per year as I have had continuous membership since 2003 and would never consider going for gold or platinum to be honest. I get Ancestry as a prezzie for Christmas from my OH - it saves him having to wrap anything up!!

I take it that you have checked all the trees on this site for possible contacts?

Dea......who's this Fans person you are rabbiting on about? Do we know her? Do we want to? Does this mean an end to all the peace and quiet we have enjoyed?

Well not much sleep last night, finally fell asleep at 8.30 this morning up at midday. Think I need a medal not a halo no wonder no one else tried to help on that one.
I had the gold membership for the first 6 months patricia along with ancestry premium, think I used the records on Genes about 3 times ....too difficult to use I found. I then took out the 1911 on FMP, now I have the full package on FMP aswell as the ancestry. I prefer my tree on ancestry to here also.

I have looked for people on here who have the same names as me on my tree...A lot of them dont get back.....and the ones that do only have the names on there by marriage etc and havent taken them further..

I seem to help more people with their trees that way... This is only the second time I have renewed....Only been on here 6 months..

Only left ancestry because wasent getting any further and needed the 1911 census records......

I Know ancestry is the better site for looking the records up.. .. but it was swings and roundabouts at the time...

We have a house full of beer and other naughty things. Been shopping and filled the boot with all sorts of drinkable goodies

Son had to do a mystery shop thing and buy booze to see if he got IDd and yes he did but has earned himself £16...think I might take that up!

jax

jax Report 10 Dec 2010 15:26

I used to hate doing that when working in a pub, some would get real stroppy...normally it was the ones who were just 18 if they were 25 they were flattered.
There was a story a while back that some pensioner had been asked for ID for buying fags in Tesco....what a jobsworth lol

ja...x

Gee

Gee Report 10 Dec 2010 17:17

I think asking for ID re booze has become more accepted now as young people know they are going to be asked as almost a matter of course

I NEVER got asked my age in a pub not even when I was 15!

Oooher.............

jax

jax Report 10 Dec 2010 17:31

Same here Gins......well the day I left school we were refused but we did look obvious but I had been going into pubs regular since 14 or 15. When the big fines came out then it was a case of you had to do it or risk the chance of a hefty fine and losing your job.

Right....I have decided we need to make people do an IQ test before they can use these boards, feel like bashing my head against a wall today

My daughter got asked for ID in Tescos ..and she is in her 30's...she was flattered.....I have just bought some Crabbies alcholic ginger beer...I was told to try this.....Do you know if you can add this to something else to make a cocktail...I do like cocktails....

I was drinking in Pubs before my 18th....Are we a bad lot lol

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 10 Dec 2010 17:43

Gins......have you always looked over 21 then?? I was going to say have you always looked old, but thought better of it...........>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>gone.

ja...x..... IQ test? .......hahahahaha. I think you may be having probs with the one who keeps pm'ing me. I am having great difficulty in understanding what they are on about. Anyway, why spoil a good wall by bashing your head against it?

jax

jax Report 10 Dec 2010 17:51

Pm me the person cyn and I will confirm whether or not

My daughter was banned from all pubs in her area before she was 18.
Mainly because they knew who she was because ex and myself ran a local pub for 11 years (I only lasted 6)

Dont like ginger beer but it probably goes well with scotch
